Probably because most people (my self included) are happy with the neca version. I'm by no means an expert on Alien, but from the looks of it, that figure looks good.

As of now It looks like on of the most accurate Big Chap toys

I remember their 12" figure (which wasn't quite 1:6th scale) was probably the closest a figure has come in terms of accuracy to the various suits the only thing that brought it down was the paint and the scale. This MAFEX could be something special

Probably that’s the only photo of it and no other mention but I’m waiting for a preorder then I’ll pounce. More photos would be nice like from an official announcement.

I don't know, I've never bought these Mafex figures. I think they're kinda small... not Revoltech small, but definitely smaller than NECA figures.

Hard plastic and visible joints, but it doesn't matter because the design is biomechanical anyway. Why, oh, why can't Hot Toys be bothered to do this?

It does look very good. Is this their first Alien? Their Robocop's look pretty decent.

I like the Chestburster accessory. You can display it bursting out of another figure's chest.

I'm really excited for this one. Aliens version shouldn't be too far behind. I hope they make Ripley.

The proportions and detail look excellent so far, and the articulation looks to be at least as good, probably better than NECA's (notice the extra points of articulation at the shoulders, as well as the feet).
So these Mafex figures are around 6" tall? Their Tactical Suit BAtman is listed as 6.3", while the Spiderman is 5.9", so I'm guessing they pay attention to scale. That would mean this Alien should be around 7", right? Still smaller than NECA's, which is 9"...

Indeed, but the Figma one is more of an interpretation (Takeya). This one looks very accurate to the movie.
