Just tried accessing their site to see if there was any word on the BSG classic series wave 3, and the site was gone, the domain expired and able to be had. Did they fall apart or are they changing names, web addresses, domains?
Anyone have an inside track with them?

Well the 3rd wave of Classic BSG 12" was *suppossed* to finally be released in March (Boomer and Athena) after a year late. Last I heard in one of SS's podcasts was that they had acquired the BSG license so I would expect some kind of announcement at Toy Fair (perhaps?).

After talking with one of Majestic's reps at ComiCon I immediately realized that they were the wrong company to hold the license. I liked their 12" figures but I'm a Classic BSG collector and their attitude when I asked about a 1:6 Colicos Baltar and Lucifer was that nobody cares about Classic BSG, only the new show.

Hmm - I'm in two minds about SSC getting the licence - on one hand I'd love to see them do some 1/6th figures but part of me wonders if they don't already have their plate full and this would be another line that might not have much happen with it.

I would have bought the new Apollo, but the sculpts on the humans just weren't there. I doubt SSC will do 12" but I hope they DO concentrate on the upgrade rather than the retro with whatever they do.

I have multibles of ALL the Majestic Studios classic BSG 12" figures. The Cylons were quite a dream come true. Yes, the human sculpts were lacking, but the Lorne Greene Adama really started to show promise. The colonial warriors had decent unis and gear. The Boomer and Athena [ahhhh, Maren Jensen :monkey5 ] were something I was really looking forward to. And they had supposedly adapted a new wrist articulation which was the real weak point of the figures. The rest of the body was really already a Sideshow type one.
Alas, if Sideshow does indeed have the BSG license, I'm not holding out for it to offer much 1:6. :monkey2

Sucks to see another nice 1/6 company go down. Thought I would be into a Classic BSG SS 1/6 line.

Their website's been down for a while.

I don't think all of their human sculpts lack - Barnabas and Phibes were pretty much perfect to me.

If SSC does indeed have the BSG liscense (the old or the new?), I can't see it going anywhere of interest to me, because like Ironman, I doubt very much it would be 1/6th.

I was happy to have Majestic around, and I hope they're not gone, but I've heard nothing about them since Comic Con, and a brief mention at the Dark Shadows fest by one of the actresses that she was "becoming an action figure early next year (07)".

Man, I really hope they didn't go belly-up! I agree the Phibes (just got in the mail yesterday) and Barnabas figures were excellent! Majestic had some real promise and I was hoping they could have filled the more niche 1/6 collector market that Sideshow seems to be moving away from.

I had hopes they would be the ones to bring us Firefly figures... Hopefully someone in the know can shed some light on this.

Being a robot addict, I wanted to get their modern Cylon centurion some time in the future. I know a German site that still lists some of the Majestic Studio stuff as pre order, but, if Majestic Studio really are "kaput", guess there's no point in ordering?

I used to own a 12" Cylon and loved it...until I took it out of the box and it immediately fell apart. The quality of the product was sorely lacking. What a waste of money for me at $40. I was going to get Starbuck as he was my favorite character, but after the disappointment in the Cylon, I decided not to get it.

Hmmm, thats odd. I have several Cylons and not a problem. I do regret not being able to latch onto Barnabas and Phibes. I got the chance to review them with some friends and they were quite good. The heads could have used a repaint, but the sculpts were there.

Some online stores still have the new BSG figures listed for a February release date...not that it means anything. But there's no official word that the company is gone. They were never particularly good about updating their website in the first place, even a year or two ago.

Does anyone out there know?

If they don't chime in with product at Toy Fair next month, we will have our answer. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

$40????? The cheapest Majestic Studio Battle Star Galactica Cylon I found (in Europe) is like 99 euro ($128).

That's right. I emailed them once last year right after the SDCC, and I NEVER got an answer...

Hell, Tower Records blew them out. I got a few for $19 and a few more for even less. Amoktime.com has Adama/Starbuck as a set for $39. Not sure if they have any Cylons left though.

Gee... I would have picked up a Cylon for $19!!! Unfortunately, the ONLY Tower Records in my area never put them on clearance. They were gone long before then. Oh well. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

Damn that is a good deal. Too bad there are no Tower Records stores where I'm located. :monkey2
I really hope Majestic will come around again. I was interested in the remake Cylon, but the lack of articulation put me off. However the remake Apollo looked great even if first hand accounts said it wasn't a good likeness. I really want 1:6 Remake Battlestar figures damn it! :(

Maybe.....but I don't believe they've been very active at Toy Fair in previous years. If I remember right, most news and glimpses of their new items have come from SDCC.

Alice Adrenochrome - I've emailed them a few times and I've gotten a couple responses from them. But not in the last year.
