For as long as I can remember I've loved puppets, I think this is possibly what got me interested in the 1/6 scale figures . As a wee lad I used to watch many of the Supermarionation shows made by Gerry Anderson and it was great escapism .

I managed to get hold of some parts cast from one of the original puppets many moons ago - Captain Scarlet ( who was my favourite I must add ) so I set about putting it together . I've been working on it today and have something half decent to show at last .

I'm hoping that this thread will chronicle the build up of this character and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts / opinions on how I'm doing.

Without further ado - pictures !!!

this is a resin cast of the cap the character wears which has been covered with very thin leather - both the red and black have been carefully applied- there is no paint on this cap .

The cap is looking great, really smart that no paint was used.
Does the mic pop down like in the show?

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out huge Gerry Anderson fan.

Thanks ! :) It took quite a while to get it to look that good. ( and loads of bad language too :lol ) The white line is a thin piece of electrical insulating tape cut to size.

The mic doesn't move unfortunately. I don't have much in the way of electronical skills. :( It will just be a static figure apart from the arms, which I will leave jointed so that I can pose him differently - with a gun / holding his cap etc.

Its going to be mohair cut into strips and attached to the head just like they did in the 1960's ! That is one job I am not looking forward to :lol . No seriously I'm very happy with what I have so far, I've actually surprised myself with this .

galactiboy - thanks ! :)
