Not that great in my assumption. They could have gone full IMAX Digital 2D and that would have been fine just like TDK and TDKR.

Just came back from watching the movie!!
I do not know what kind of weed the critics are smoking, but this movie was great!!
THIS is how you make a Superhero movie, not that Iron Man 3 travesty!
Loved the setting, the story is actually great too! Not just the action. I liked the changes to the mythos, and how everything unfolds as Kal-El finds his true calling!!
If anything it felt TOO SHORT for me!

I really hope they do a Director's Cut!

Superman kicks all kinds of ***!! The battles were really something, and whoever says the action was like Transformers is completely

Crowe did a great job as Jor-El, I liked him a lot!
Zod was awesome too, and in a way, interesting how his reasoning behind his action kind of make sense...
Faora is a badass!

And I liked Adams as Lois Lane a lot too. How she follows the story and becomes a crucial part of Supes destiny!

It's not perfect though, I still think The Avengers is a better movie overall, but it's definitely a bold new Supes... I forsee the upcoming sequels becoming bigger and better, this one is a winner in my book!

Movie critics are on crack rocks for portraying this movie to be nothing more than mediocre. This movie is by far and away the opposite of what I have read into by these so called movie critics. It's def the best Superman movie I have ever seen

Agreed sir. Just got back from the Wal-Mart special premiere night showing in REAL 3D and gotta say--the critics have lost me on this one. Man of Steel is the Superman film I've waited my whole comic book reading life to see. Hey, I love the first two Christopher Reeve films but they are of another time and another place. Nothing wrong with that. In fact those films are righteous but I did not want those films again. I grew up reading DC Post Crisis from 1985 until now and I've wanted to see that Superman from that Post Crisis world hit the screen and be a badass and save the ****ing day against a group of super powered *******s causing an OMEGA LEVEL THREAT and bringing down absolute Hell on planet Earth and I got that! But I also got a humane, emotional story about a man not of this world trying to figure out just what he is and where he stands. And that part of the story made the film for me. Damn. A great journey, a great adventure and the never ending battle begins baby! 9/10. Bring on Luthor and Brainiac!

saw it and yeah rotten tomato must have been hacked because in no freakin is this as bad as they make it seem, this is actually something right off the page of the new 52 justice league issues where they face off darkseid in terms of destruction and epicness... yes that epic, Now some people are still going off about well the original superman film is better because of this and that, NO, hell NO, its like comparing tim burton's batman to the dark knight, you just cant, two seperate beast of films, both amazing but both are so different that you cant at all compare the, all you can do is watch them and say thank you for both of them being a reality and not some script sitting in a storage unit at warners... so in case you dont know by now, i loved this film and i love the way they went at it and they did their thing and it is perfect for what its meant to be, and thats a superman story on film for a new generation and a reward for those who wanted to see superman be superman.

Damn I wish I could have seen the same film you guys saw.... I went with three of my friends and we were all very disappointed. We thought it started out pretty good but then something happened. It was hard for us to put our finger on but we all agreed that the most of the characters were blah.....

I mean they should not have shown Perry White and the Gang in danger, because they gave not one of them an ounce of character.

The action scenes were OK... Apparently you guys like your Superhero fights with lots and lots and I mean LOTS of Pushing...

We all liked/Loved Foara and thought she and the Big Krytonian had the best fight scenes and she had all the coolest parts.

I thought Kevin Costner was great but I did not care for Diane Lane.

We all thought Cavill made a very good Superman. But it really came down to the lack of a story and well developed characters.

I hate to compare it to the Donner film but I just felt that the Donner film did a much better job with the characters. Basically if you gave the Donner film the F/X of this film you would have the greatest Superhero film of all time or at least close.


We all just felt let down... I did not even get my hopes up and It still fell flat for me.

I could go into nitpick mode and complain about all the stuff that we thought was wrong with the film but it all seemed to come back to lack of a real story and lack of character development.

Not that my opinion matters..... Hope the rest of you enjoy it as much as the guys above did.

Hope it does well enough for a better sequel
