I don’t understand anymore.

I’m back to being bitter about Mars Toys, until they drop ‘66 Riddler, then they’ll be my favorite toy company again, until they delay Penguin again, then I’ll be upset again, until they drop Penguin. :lol

It is getting really confusing what they mean. :lol

I don't think they're intentionally being vague, but the language barrier is helping to conflate different statements so it becomes impossible to glean their exact intention.

We should start a support group since that's exactly how I'll feel!

What we know:

Riddler is to release this month.

Alfred will be an in-stock order in January.

"Penguin will be released at the perfect time", that is, he'll go up for order when he's in stock since that was a plan they had for him.

Newmar Catwoman is a confirmed release, but no timing given. She'll likely be an in-stock order like Penguin, in line with the new way forward doing away with pre-orders.

66line continues to produce. I once said that all of them both made, and the progress was 60%. Now the progress is 100% completed.

Looking at this again, could it be that Mars thought they were “both made” (completed) when he first posted this picture of a seemingly completed, and professionally photographed (presumably for solicitation) Penguin prototype:

But then Mars got a mixed reaction to the likeness, and ended up reworking all three heads - meaning that, when he decided to have the heads remade, the figure was now actually only at 60% completion, but now that Penguin’s heads were remade, and Riddler is releasing this month, now they’re at 100%…?

I don’t know. :lol

I don’t know. :lol

It's a good theory to explain the 60%/100%, and works knowing that the apparently complete looking bird in those photos wasn't actually ready for the oven. (There was a hold up with a vital part, but not the sculpts as far as I know).

Unleashed Viper Customs has been showing off their 66 figures, and I am guessing this is having an effect on Mars putting out these messages and possibly getting their stuff out for sale quicker than intended...

It may be a factor, but it wasn't the catalyst.

If Mars are aware of them, then it might possibly encourage them to continue deeper into the line. (Mars weren't aware that JazzInc had teased a Newmar Catwoman until someone mentioned it, and they had to ask what company was doing her).

Why do you think that if Mars is aware of them that it might encourage them to go deeper?

Just wishful thinking that there may be some positive effect if they were aware, and were encouraged by the interest in those characters to keep making their own versions at a higher quality.

I'm still clinging onto the hope that when they said early on they would make "all", that it meant they intended to go beyond the major characters and make the more unusual ones as well.

I will buy every ‘66 fig from Mars Toys. Jazzinc is way too expensive for a fig just because they are now “licensed”. HT is licensed too but they aren’t charging as much as JazzInc

I think, for me, it depends on the figure. I feel like, if Mars Riddler turns out as well as Romero and Meredith Penguin, likewise (which they appear on course to be), I’m more than happy with them. If Jazz does a premium Batman and Robin, though, that are a marked upgrade over the Hot Toys versions with accurate bodies, better suits, and alternate heads and/or faceplates with moving eyes? I’ll definitely bite. Catwoman and Batgirl also might be the exceptions, simply because I really, really like what Joost is doing with the Pfeiffer body. I feel like that’s such a huge step for a hobby that has largely treated the female form like an afterthought where exaggerated, bimbofied generic bodies with giant **** take precedent over accurate depictions of how the women look in real life and on-screen and it’s honestly so ******* weird to me.

Pretty much my perspective exactly. I hope that Catwoman takes a front space in development as Joost mentioned in a reply a few days ago. That would help accelerate completion of the four main rogues. If he does the other rogues and they are an improvement, I'll definitely consider them. Mars has done a nice job with what has been shown for Joker, Riddler and Penguin though...

The Alfred thread on Mars' Facebook, where they asked what company was doing a Newmar Catwoman ("Who?") is now missing at least ten posts.

That exchange is now gone, eradicating reference to JazzInc. You can search for certain words (e.g., JazzInc and who?) and according to Facebook they're still there in that thread, except you can't see them publicly any more.

The other question and answer confirming they're still doing her remained, however.

Mars were secretive about Newmar before when they deleted their digital sculpt post, but this time it looks more like killing the reference to JazzInc.

Why do you think they’d do that? Trying to avoid any potential legal issues?
