The Legendary Busts have been received with mild enthusiasm. On the other hand, The Thing and Venom busts have been well received and are impossible to find. The regular Spidey is sold out almost everywhere including direct from Sideshow.

The Thing 1:1 = 150 ES
Venom 1:1 = 300 ES
Spidey 1:1 = 500 ES (250 regular domestic and 250 international)
Symbiote Spidey 1:1 = 500 ES

The regular Spideys should be gone by the time the movie rolls around. The Symbiote is anyone's guess since, in my opinion, the ES is too large even if their intention was to make as many worldwide as the regular Spidey bust. I also did not care for the execution of it as I would have prefered a Peter Parker face with the symbiote taking over. All that said...

What characters would you guys like to see in this scale? How do you think this line will do in the aftermarket?

Thing and Venom will certainly be sought after not only because of the ES, but because they are amazing looking busts. The Spidey's just don't do it for me. They look nice, but they don't have that special 'pop' that the other two have.

I hope they start making more 1:1 scale busts in all their lines, they are awesome!

Spidey looks better in person. Not to mention it is Spider-Man based on McFarlane which most people consider the definitive Spidey of the 90's the same way Jim Lee was to the X-Men of the 90's.

When you think about it, these things are only mildly more expensive than your average PF and you don't have to get the whole line but just a few select characters. I think the appeal will be there to get Spidey later down the road as he is the most popular Marvel character nowadays. The ES is also low when you consider that the ES is for the entire run. There are no regular vs exclusives so these are very collectible when you consider that. I think SDCC will make everything Sideshow Marvel peak to ridiculous levels. As lately we discuss similar topics over and over I think overlooking these 1:1 pieces may be a costly mistake if anyone is hesitant.

As for characters that I would like to see, my list is small simply because it would have to be all about the most visually striking charaters on 1:1 scale.

Green Goblin
Silver Surfer (good luck outdoing the Upper Deck version Sideshow!) :D
Hulk
Human Torch
Thanos (to go along with Surfer)
Thor (outdoing the Upper Deck version should be easy...) :lol

For anyone on the fence about Spidey, it is very impressive in person. I bought it because 250.00 or so from toynk seemed like a good deal. It was much larger than I thought it would be. It is very well done and an immediate eye catcher. I think the Venom bust is one of the finest sculptures I have ever seen and expect this to skyrocket in value over the next year.

I think a Lizard could be incredible, as well as a GG. The possibiltities are endless. Perhaps with the popularity of the LS busts and the recent interest in the 1:1's we will see more of them comig. I will buy the symbiote because...well because I'm me.:D

Could anybody imagine a 1:1 Ghostrider w/ flames? Imagine it lit up?

:monkey5

...Scratch that...I could imagine it...and also all of the breakages.

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

I don't have it, but the Thing bust is probably the best one they've done. I had predicted that it would be more popular, and I think as more busts come out, more people will be looking for it.

I have the Spidey. One of my favourite pieces and the best one released to date.

Venom is awesome. Not as much detail as the Predator 1:1 but it is certainly the Marvel equivalent of it. A Green Goblin or Carnage to flank the Spidey bust along with Venom would make for an excellent Spidey display. I think the mixed popularity (people either love them or sort of feel the exclusive plaque concept is lame) of the LS busts will make the 1:1 scales more desirable.

The moment they do a high profile character it will be over.

I am thinking about getting into the Legendary Marvel bust line. The 1:1 are a bit out of my price range plus they take up too much space.

they are really nice, Ash. I do recommend on getting the exclusive version though, for those that are completist.

Have Doom coming from Bannister this week. I love the removeable nose option. That just looks to damned cool as far as I'm concerned! I'll get my IM after all of you I guess!:rotfl

Hey IJ, did you get a shipping notice yet?
Nope. I do have a nice charge on my bank account though! They are still within the timeframe that their site states so I'm not worried/pissed yet. I'm gonna give 'em another day or so.
