And what was with Sam telling Batroc to go eat some croissants and French fries? Not very Cap-like behavior. I wonder how people would have reacted if Batroc named a couple of stereotypical foods for Sam to go eat.

Walker will smooth things over between Falcon and Batroc with a grape soda summit

Lets first agree that when someone say wokeness or sjw it is hate speech and not criticism. To be criticism you must consume first and have good points to be discuss.

Sam Wilson as Cap is not gender/race swap, he is totally different than rogers, his storyline is all about social problems of society unlike rogers who fight for his own ideals and morals, he fights for what he thinks is right but he is not show to be too progressive as Sam(lets remenber he is 100 years old and was frozen from most of the time so its not his fault).
Riri Williams as Iron Man, she is a genius like Stark(both were born with super brain power but their difference is that Stark was born with money but Riri didnt), she earned her armor by reverse tech Stark tech by her own merit, if she is boring than Iron Man is boring too.
Jane Foster as Thor, she was a better thor than thor himself, her comics was awesome and this helped build a better growth for thor (Odinson) now she is Valkyrie and both her runs are great, i recommend.
She-Hulk as Hulk, we all like hulks.
Kate Bishop as Hawkeye, she is a good character but i dont know how she will fit in the MCU, if she is going to be the Hawkeye for the Avengers than she will be just as good as Clint, lets be honest outside Rogers,Stark and Thor, the others was just side characters in the Infinity Saga.
Yelena Belova as Black Widow, she is actually a useless swap or simply a rip-off.

Thats the thing why Miles is liked, because people after some time gave him a chance, he is different than Peter, have unique storylines and problems just like everyone above with the exception of Belova.
I would bet that you guys would like the whole Jason Aaron's Thor run(Jane Foster as Thor is in the middle) for instance.

Only thing I will agree on is that when woke or sjw is referred to, it has already been consumed and I only see the fascists hating Dr. Seuss and throwing firebombs at law enforcement.

You just made my point for me in your descriptions lol. Point is, it is not the story of the character like Jane Foster, but the MONIKER and POWERS they assume. Comics are monthly and the company/writers HAVE to come up with something new. Anything! So just a lazy attempt at creating something new instead of creating a whole new UNIQUE character! I don't care if Jane Foster's story was good or not, what is wrong with claiming a different name, weapon and power set? What is wrong with a white guy as Black Panther? White guy as Blade? Falcon? I don't want to see that, cause I like them as black and as their UNIQUE character. Progression is entirely new, not a swap out.

In the 80's when Lemar became Walker Cap's partner he was the new "Bucky." But he quickly realized that it was demeaning to just be a black version of an established white hero and requested that the government let him change his name to Battlestar, which they did. I remember thinking that was cool as a kid, but now here we are in 2021 with tokenism all the rage and seen as a step *forward* for people of color.

Spellman sacrificed precious screen time needed for white Bucky resolution just to give Sam an extended speech ripped right out of WW84 finale!

Hell he sacrificed screen time for white Walker, white Zemo and white Sharon for that speech!

Hell even the boat repair got more screen time than what was building up to be Bucky’s big emotional moment lol

:rotfl :rotfl I couldn't get past his spelling out the ULTIMATUM acronym without busting a gut. Damn, and I thought SHIELD was silly. :lol

While I can see how you might prefer a more imposing leader for the Flag Smashers, I think a grass roots style leader like Carli rising up is more believable/relatable within the current MCU landscape. Not that her character (as well as others) couldn't do with being fleshed out better but conceptually I really like them, and I doubt a guy running around in a white & black leotard, white boots and a cape would have been an improvement. That outfit may qualify as cool in the comics, but IMO it wouldn't fly on screen.

Yes it looked super cool in the comics, why would you suddenly assume that his outfit wouldn't get tweaks to be presentable in live-action like literally every other hero we've seen so far? I found nothing "relatable" about Karli. Her rhetoric and "leadership" was far lamer than comic Flag-Smasher's chuckle inducing grandstanding. All they had to do was make his dialogue less silly, tweak his already cool looking costume into something a little more grounded and they'd be good to go. Just ditching the cape and switching out his mace with an assault weapon would probably do the trick:

Yeah why even include Winter Soldier in the title, sheesh.

He should be called "Poor and Weak Bucky" now. He got nerfed harder than any other MCU character by far. His resolution in defeating the Flag Smashers was by using a phone app? SERIOUSLY?!

I don?t! You?re normally on point but this one...I don?t know...

Well, there is a similarity in their wild-haired looks to be sure, but also they (Kiri and Malcolm) are both involved in the story for their respective franchises, both getting complaints about the direction/focus of the story, both accused of putting today's troubles into escapist fantasy movies/shows, and both accused of undermining established characters.

But in the end, I think its the similarity of appearance coupled with poor reception of their efforts that is the greatest parallel.

Dude about this "wokeness or sjw", we will have to desagree, everytime when someone say wokeness or sjw its because they dont have an UNIQUE, objetive and valid argument about the thing they hate because they HATE.
Dude they have to start somewhere to create new characters it was not lazy they were building foundations to support the character, Jane Foster as Thor was great exactly because it was a new take on the Thor mythos and in the end it was the start for the new Valkyrie series featuring Jane as a new UNIQUE title character with a whole different set of powers, weapons and motivations.

If you dont care if story was good or not why are you losing you're time discussing? You would never liked her so why consume or even discuss about it.
I never read or comments about Kamala Khan Miss Marvel because i was not interested in her books, i did not even liked her inclusion on the PS4 Avengers game, but i am gonna give her a chance on her Disney+ series because its tied to someting that i liked, Captain Marvel.
For a new character to be born people needs to give a real chance and time so it can be established.

In the comics Cap Sam Wilson was a fresh take on Captain America role in the marvel universe, he wasnt a copy\ko\rip-off to Steve BUT his own character unlike John Walker who is a one-dimensional since his creation that has no substance, like a cardboard cut-out.

Blatant favoritism on my part, but that's the thing - the show even SAYS Bucky has been fighting for 90 years. Was that line from Sam about "we're not assassins" supposed to be funny? Just sloppiness on the writer's part, as Bucky definitely IS an assassin? Irony? But apparently Bucky's ample training, years of experience, and super soldier reflexes were jettisoned for the plot. The thing that gets me, is in a scenario involving terrorist groups, and back alleys, and shadowy locations is more Bucky's turf anyway. Given the same scenario, a lot of the time you could have cut Falcon out of the whole story, and with Bucky's skill set in theory it wouldn't have made any difference.

...

And then Sam's mopey speech about this ONE ***** terrorist dying? And how we shouldn't "label" murderous TERRORISTS--all from the hands of a writer that you know considers half the country to be "ists" and "phobes?" No it was not a great speech, it went on forever, was eye-rollingly cringy and with the dozen cutaways I was half expecting to see the *boat's* reaction to Sam's preaching on TV. The Isaiah memorial *could* have been quite poignant in a better show but not in this one.

Bucky was made to be a first class ***** and borderline incompetent, Walker's handling was shameful (but Russell himself at least won me over, even in this episode he was the one character I was actually rooting for.) But yes jye I don't know what was going on with his goofy "I'm back, yay" deal at the end. Did Russell show up on set drunk and they just said "we only have time for one take, let's do this," lol

Sam cries over a loser terrorist, makes a big speech about her, and then pardons an apparent villain (wtf) who now has full access to government and military secrets.

Good job for your first day as Cap.

Took me a bit of time to get it, but I just didn't like Sam Wilson in this show. But then again, neither Bucky, nor Sam Wilson are the characters I know from previous films; or even some of the comics. That soap opera level speech was so cringe it's hard to believe no-one at Marvel demanded an edit. As was the cringe spectacle of Sam carrying Karli in his arms like something tragic had happened - *&^% this was BAD. Bargain bin Walmart level bad.:toilet_cl

Bucky Barnes needs to be handed over to a writer who actually cares about one of Marvel's classic characters. At least Stan was able to emote; which was more than Mackie was able to do for the most part. Mostly Mackie looked like he'd just got handed a bill for unpaid taxes from the white devils.:monkey3

Man, it hurts to know I'm glad this series ended at 6 episodes; or that I hope there aren't any more as the characters deserved better. Not under this showrunner anyway. Guess Bucky is slated to be the white boy sidekick if Captain America ever shows up again. Am still rolling that one through my brain. What a complete waste.:stake
