The only way this would be cool is if they released the vintage style figures the 4 Horsemen sculpted a year or two ago. Those things were sick looking :rock

That thing is awesome!

I always liked the new show. They really tried to make episodes about every character and it wasn't like a sitcom--the show had continuity and nice animation. I can't believe it took this long for a DVD.

I'm hoping the New Sculpt Classic Look thing is the case here! I'll be all over these! That He-Man looks awesome!

If a whole line of figures like those comes out, I will really have a hard time deciding whether or not to keep the 2002 collection. The work was beautiful on them, and the redesigns were as good as a redesign could be, but there were times I missed the more simplified look of the 80's versions. Who am I kidding....I'd keep it all :monkey5

I have a sneaking suspicion that these will be the figures Mattel will be making and that would be unbelievably awesome. This figure was done by the Four Horsemen and presented to Mattel at SDCC last year. It would be even better if
Mattel has the Four Horsemen doing figures for both the original series from 1983 and the 2002 series, the best imo, in this newer more articulated style.

But I would just like to say thank you to Mattel for bringing back one of the staples of 1980's pop culture.

They are saying that when Mattel unveils the new toy line they will also show the Power of Grayskull episode of the new series were it is revealed that "By the Power of Grayskull!" refers to a man, not his castle. Kudos, Mattel, kudos.

I loved the 2002 collection. The cartoon tie-in, the re-designs, the exclusive Moss-Man and Keldor...but then Mattel effed up and dropped the line!?!? ***holes!!! So I started buying Justice League 3-packs, removing the ONE figure I needed, and replacing it flea market Batmen with no capes. I would write "Bring back MOTU" in Sharpie on their backs and return them to Wal*Mart. I guess it didn't work then b/c a year later we get these immobile plastic expensive statue things. Blah! That's when I did a 180 and sold it all off.

True story. Toyfare printed my letter 'bout it in issue #103!

I still have all my 2002 figures and they were pretty cool cool, but these are much more nostalgia geared collectibles. He looks like he jumped right off the cartoon! I'm really anxious now to hear what Mattel has in store!

I think the quality and paint were fantastic for the $20 retail the Neca stactions cost. And unfortunately is going to be the only way to get the awesome sculpts of figures like Hordak and Clawful, which I'll take rather than drooling at pics on websites for the next few years

But I agree, I think the cancelation of the series was one of the biggest toy let downs of the decade. So much potential, and a great fusion of toy aesthetic and sculpt. I'm a whore for the 4H, and I'm glad that they are in charge of the DC Universe line. The fact that they've made figures of two of my favorite toy properties of all time is a toy wish come true.

This also could be a push for a NEW Film...theres been talk for the last 2 years about one and possibly be done similiar to '300' to create the effect of Eternia and the usual CGI Villians and Hero's involved. This could get expensive, but it would be done right

Yeah, I hope its not a film version... wouldn't really be interested in that. Although if its actually a good movie (very, very doubtful) I could be persuaded to get some 1/6 figures :rock

The toys (based off seeing He-man) will be from the classic cartoon. The Movie could be a totally seperate thing. Well find out on April 19th!

NO 1/6 scale figures! they would be $100 or more and I just cant keep up anymore

Don't worry, most likely the movie will be horrendous... lest we forget the original live action film :lol

I bought and still have the toys from the 2002 series, I was gutted when they canned it, as some of the re-imagined toys like General Rattlor, Zodac and especially Trap-Jaw and Buzz-Off were superb....hell, I've still got about 4 Keldors and a couple of the Snake Armor He-Men that were sneaked out as exclusives for us EU punters.

If Mattel does these they have to do something really unique and awesome to attract attention...and DON'T short-pack characters and overflood waves with He-Man and Skeletor...that's what they did with their last MotU series.

However, knowing Mattel's patience level...this line might not last long.
