Just wanted to post pics of my modified Medicom 1/6 scale Figure.

I basically removed all of his rubber armor parts and used foam to bulk up his upper body - chest, shoulders, shoulder blades. And I bulked up his thighs as well.

The modifications makes his body more proportionate, and gives him a much better overall stance.

And I created a custom foam base head for the rubber face/cowl to fit over. The new head fills out the rubber head better than the factory one. His head is now vertically slim rather than squarish.

IMO - the Medicom figure is the best quality compared to the Takara and the Hot Toys. I have all three and the rubber material on the Takara figure is already showing signs of cracking on some of the joint areas (look closely on yours and you will see them). And the Hot Toys one is two beefy looking and the face is a little "dumb" looking.

And you can get a Medicom for much less than the other two now.

Here are some pics of my modified Medicom:

wow that looks great!! seriously... I always wanted to get the medicom one... but I knew that the Takara one was gonna include the bale head.... I still want a medicom one.. dammit what to do!!!

Isn't this 1 much shorter than all of the other Co's 12" releases though?

Can you take a side by side shot of this 1 with a Dragon, or sideshow figure?
(maybe next to the Hot Toys SR, if you have it?)

OH! & GREAT PICS! I really like the mod!

!ss!

Seems like most Medicoms are 11 1/2". I've just come to the conclusions that 1/6 scale medicoms are based off your average height Japanese male. I've seen the Medicom and Hot Toys back to back and the HT one is a 1/2 inch taller.

So that's Takara Batman and Medicom Batman! I think medicom Batman in the end would be my favorite.... I wanted it since the proto pics... the Takara is sweet.. but I'm worried as the long term health of the body suit....

i have the Takara and it shows no signs of cracking, but then again i don't pose my figs that much.
I also have the Takara one.... I don't have any cracks... but I'm still a bit worried....

For the Takara Figure - I suggest displaying him in the box. Or if you have to have him on a shelf - make sure he's not in direct sunlight and not in a room where the temperature fluctuates alot.

And if you have him on a shelf - don't have him posed in a dramatic pose that puts stress on the joints. I think that's what I did wrong.

The rubber material is super cheap and if it is under tension over a period of time - it starts to have stress cracks.

I know it's a cost issue - but I would have gladly paid a little bit for for the Takara so that they can use a better rubber.

Hey. Thanks! The Medicom is a smaller than the HT and the Takara.

I'll take a pic of the three and post later.

Cool! Once you're ready - PM me and I'll let you know what I did - step by step. It's not hard to do.

Here's a shot (left to right) of the Hot Toys, Medicom, and Takara figures.

The Medicom is shorter than the other two by about an inch. Not a big deal to me.

The Hot Toys looks like Schwarzenegger as batman. The Takara is a little lanky looking (his head is actually a tad too small for the body). The Medicom (with the modifications) - has the best body proportions - IMO.

The other thing I noticed when taking this pic is that of the three - the HT one has the most trouble standing without the use of a stand. His ankle joint is too loose for his weight.

The Takara is definitely the clear winner in the poseability race. You can get him into super cool poses. Thanks mainly to his full body rubber suit (instead of the tight form spandex material on the other two), and those ugly "slipper/loafer" shoes. But poseability won't matter if the cheap rubber material falls apart after a couple years.

I'm already planning to make a custom spandex based suit for the Takara when the rubber suit bites it.

Did you make your Medi batman taller? Or that's just the angle of that photo makes medi batman look taller?

From this pic, medi batman looks much shorter than the other 2.

Hehe. Good eye - the Medicom in the pic is the modified one. He is about half an inch taller with the modifications.

He gained about .25 inches when I added padding to build up his shoulders and chest (which pushed the headsculpt up).

I also made the head frame (that the rubber head sculpt goes over) taller than the original-so that gave him another .25 inches roughly.

That pic from MC is a good reference of how the Medicom looks without my modifications. The head is squarish and shorter. And the upper body looks more like a child's physique.

looks great! any chance of posting a step by step tutorial?

Thanks! Yeah - alot of PM about that so I will be posting a step-by-step at some point.

I'm going to modifiy two more to sell on Ebay in the next month or so - so I'll likely post the tutorial after that.

Here's a new pic of the mod Medicom I took today:

Also: The two mod versions I'm working on are spoken for already. But I just picked up another Medicom and will have another available towards the beginning of November.

PM me if you are interested.
