No, they come preassembled.

Anyway you take everything off and put it back on in like 30 seconds. It's super easy.

Yes, it looks almost enamel in hand. But at medium distance, it looks super nice.

The finish looks toy-like, to me (I own one). The details softer than I expected and the weight, the metal construction is just pointless, a bad idea. If this thing tips over it's going damage anything it falls on, and likely itself. This should have been plastic (and cheaper) for what it is, IMO.
