These Iron Man red/gold exclusive is nothing special anymore :( Probably 10,000 of these guys exist in the world.

The base looks crappy.... How does someone replicate a statue like this???

I don't know if its still the case, but at one time the recasts were supposedly coming straight out of the factory that produced the actual sideshow pieces, there was a thread on here somewhere about it.

well at least he says its not sideshow not a strait up scam but still wouldent dought if a sucker buys it

I went ahead and reported it. Probably do no good, but all these fakes are really starting to bother me.

At least the seller will have to relist and inconvenience him.

finally made it over to the US, well at least that is what his ebay account says.

I hate all of these counterfeits. Oh well, shouldn't ruin the value of the real deals. I mean you can have a Golex watch or a Rolex watch... or a Hag Tauer or Tag Hauer... either way, any sane watch collector who wants a great watch that keeps great time would go for a Rolex and the Tag Hauer over one of the knock offs.

very true

I know feel very pi$$ed off that all the effort I went to secure a genuine one from SS almost seems to have been in vain.

The market is being flooded with these cheap knock-offs that de-value the real mccoy.

I now won't sell my exclusive for fear of being scrutinized by any buyer (regardless of the fact that I have all the original paperwork from SS for it).

I love my Iron Man, but technically isn't he Polystone Man?

I guess he is...

wonder what the knock-offs are made from.......paper mache???? :D

i don't know if it has established if these are factory rejects or recasts from the original molds. but if you have the original brown shipper and proof you bought yours directly from sideshow, the knock-off shouldn't devalue your investment.

Wow, that's really bad...

I never buy anything second rate...Official is always best...

Same with video games accessories...Mad Catz and Logitech just don't compare to offical Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo...

My question is what kind of box do you think they send these in? Have they even duplicated the Sideshow Comiquette Box as well ???

Well, I got mine 2nd hand from a board member and it sure looks like the real deal, but I don't have the brown shipped and a CC receipt to prove it, so where does that leave me?

I hope not. I remember seeing an auction a little over a week ago and they had pics of the styrofoam shell and it looked cheap. There are pics of a real IM SS box in some of the auctions, but I think it's just the same pic reused.

One thing that is weird is none of these sellers have negative feedback, for selling fakes. Don't these buyers know they are getting fakes upon delivery and spending too much for them?

if i was someone buying and didn't know you from this board, i would hesitate to make such an expensive purchase from you. i think this would go for most. but you probably shouldn't worry because if you sold your im, it would probably be to someone here on the board.

At the bottom of the auction is a "Report this item" button. Press it and follow the steps to classify this as a counterfeit item.

Ebay does not police themselves, they expect the buyers/sellers to police them.

MesaScott, I couldn't agree with you more. I can't imagine spending that much money on a clone. But then again that's my opinion and people with spend there money the way they want.

In terms of your SS Iron Man, I personally don't have one, but I'm sure down the road as long as you have the original box you'll be find. And besides if you got yours from a board member its no worries.
