I was just curious on what everyone's opinion is of what is Sideshow's most realistic looking piece - I guess concerning busts, or whatever...

In my opinion the best 1:6 scale representation is Sgt. 'Red' O'Neill.

Best PF or Statue is The Phantom of the Opera.

And the best Bust is Bela Lugosi as Dracula.

Well that's my 2 cents.:huh

I hesitate to apply the "life like" title, but there's something about the Grievous PF that makes it look very realistic and it's always been one of their more visually impressive pieces.

I think that the items representing aliens or robots, etc. will be more convincing than their human counterparts because we are so used to seeing living and breathing humans and the slightest discrepancy will trigger an alarm in our brain that something is off. Conversely, that makes successful human sculpts all the more impressive in my book.

Very cool guys - I always thought the 1:1 Darth Maul bust looked pretty real - but having his face painted makes the realism a little easier...

I have said this many times but the eyes on a lot of the 1:1 busts ruin the realism for me.

I've never seen it in person - but just thinking about it I agree... glossy eye pieces would definately add to the realism, but at the same time would probably up up up the price bigtime...

Are so many nice pieces, the busts seems to be dominant for sure.

Im looking forward to the new Rambo First blood figure that will be out this month, the head sculpt looks so good, looks excactly like Stallone,Hot Toys`best Sculpt so far.

This is a tough one for me....but for a the 12 inch my winner is:

The Nazi Kroenen

For PF I feel that the piece that really sold me on the whole PF line and whose detail is the BEST I've seen is:

lurtz.jpg

Lurtz!!! :rock :rock

And for comiquettes there is only one clear choice for me:

ghostrider-03.jpg

The Old West Ghost Rider - dang I love this statue!!!

However, I have strong feeling that once I receive the Lord of Darkness PF Exclusive, Lurtz may have to take the silver.
Perhaps figures like Ghost Rider and Lurtz aren't meant to be considered "life like" but to me they were excellent representations of the characters from the movies they were in. So if I got this whole thread wrong sorry....perhaps my post should be titled my favorite collectibles. :)

Me too, the eyes in person look lifeless. They should have went with glass eyes instead. I have not seen the Yoda in person but does it suffer from the same eye 'problem' as the maul bust?

I have the 1:1 Yoda in my office, and it looks great. However, the quality of the eyes on the final product sadly does not match the quality of the prototype that I saw in person at SDCC last year. That made me order it on the spot, but it didn't end up looking quite as lifelike as the original.

It does look better than Mauls but is it still not glass?

My two faves as far as 'lifelike' go are both from Hot Toys, great sculpts, and thebest paint apps out there-
