MOTUC - Got Keldor? 6/15/2010

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread solely for the purpose of who can help who out to get Keldor on June 15th.

This thread is in no way supposed to detract from the awesome MOTUC thread that is all things MOTUC here. Please save MOTUC discussion for that thread. This thread is about who plans on being able to order Keldor on June 15th, and who wants one if they wont be around or are unable to purchase Keldor on June 15th when the figure sells out in 2 minutes. Probably best to keep the discussion focused so it's easier to keep updated.

I plan on ordering 10, keeping 2 (contributing the extra 8) and then selling the rest to freaks, and if any left over, sell on Ebay.

Things to consider:
- Cost of figure = $20
- Cost of shipping 1 figure From Mattel = $8, 3 figures = $12, 4+ figures = $? (at least that's what I typically get charged.
- Anyone who wants one should be expected to help cover part of the initial shipping cost, and then all of the cost to ship to the buyer. I figure it would be around $30 per Keldor, but that's just a guess.

When replying, please say what you are in for? Meaning, can you contribute to the cause and try to buy extras (and how many, excluding the ones you plan to keep for yourself) or if you just need one.


So here's the start of the list. Please let me know if you plan to order, and I'm assuming anyone who participates in this thread is also in the "need Keldor" category. I'll update as necessary.

Any ideas on how to better communicate/organize the effort are appreciated.

Another thought, may be a good idea to include your general location so shipping could be somewhat localized (i.e. no shipping from Maine to California or Miami to Washington State)

It amazes me Mattle doesn't either make more of these by now or just release them at retail. They seem to always do 'better than expected.' Even the 'risky' items like Battle Cat or the Giant Guy sell out in record time. Frankly I'm glad I'm not collecting this line, because it isn't easy (ie not fun) to do so.

I've always wanted the 200x series Keldor though. I just love that burning head!

Good point. I guess best to only say how many you can offer, not including those you plan to keep.

We need some MOTUC philanthropists to donate their charity to the supply, and lessen the demand.

Demand is already exceeding supply. I'm guessing that if you were planning on ordering 1 or 2, and you happened to order 5 or 6 or more, you would at least break even. It's Keldor. Who doesn't want him? I'm anticipating very high demand for this figure.

I only bring it up because there are plenty of "WTB Tytus" threads out there, and we need the numbers so at least some of us succeed in the task.

My plan is to order four and hope to trade two for two She-Ras. My idea is that if I focus solely on ordering one character I lessen the chance of the site crashing on me and selling out of everything before I get my order in.

So, maybe it'd be a good idea to make a She-Ra thread so the people who want both can kinda get on a game plan to order one or the other figure with the expectation to trade their extras with someone who did the opposite??

Nice idea. I need to get a total of 3 not all for myself though. I'll try to pick up a few to help out if I have the cash to do so. It might be hard to do since She-Ra is also this month but I might be able to grab a couple extra.

I've helped people out before and somewhere between $28 to $34 normally covers all the costs. It kind of depends on how many you bought and how big a box you're sending the one out to the person you're helping.
