1/6 scale MOSoS by Markus (Black Sheep models)

I am currently in the middle of building and painting this kit and would appreciate any input from others who may have bought this piece.

** I will try and get better pics this weekend as I am working on it a bit at a time late evening **

Multi piece kit, but very well detailed and finely cast. Good size comparison to the RWoS.

A few niggling small air bubble marks, but given the amount of fine point details (spikes, armour etc), I expected this.

I have undercoated / primed the piece and have started painting the steed. Priming is essential to not only bond the paint, but picks out those bits you may have overlooked (as I had on the head). The colouring needed for the blankets is very deceptive as there are greens, blues and reds hidden in there.

Getting down to the painting bit. Lots of mixing of black with brown, royal blue etc.
The armour is flat black as a base coat for the mettalic finish that will be applied later.

Time and money I suppose, though he was a great character. Same with the parley and death of Saruman I guess :dunno

Great extras for the DVD's though :lol

p.s Just to reaffirm: I'm not the sculpter, just a customer building the kit :)

A couple of pictures showing the armour painting. After applying a flat black base, I added the metal coting which drys dull at first, then buffs to a great finish ready for the 'rusted' dry brushing.

A pre buffing look at the blankets etc that seem to be made up of Gondorian and Rohan colours (maybe from fallen foes :( )

The final stage before the fine detailing of straps, buckles etc.

It is at least as heavy as the Ringwraith on Steed by SS/W , if not heavier.

The kit was built by Markus Hausberg at Black Sheep models. Check out the Wetacollectors forum for more details :)

Rusted effect added. Nearly there now! :hi5:

Impressive job indeed, Dave! At this moment I like everything except horse's neck, looks too mechanic. Keep it on!

Another update, another apology for crappy pics :lol.

Steed more or less finished, just need to sort the stirrups and reigns out a bit and give it a once over. The detailing on the centre blanket has been added and the straps etc picked out.
His Lordship has been assembled for the 2 different versions and he sits well on the steed now.

Again...fantastic sculpting from Markus :lecture

Final pics. The Mithril shirt version. Both poses look very well. Great kit to pick up and fits in really well with the 1/6 SS/W 1/6 pieces. Thanks for looking and the comments on my efforts :hi5:
