I've seen several movies lately where they would be a lot better with the deleted scenes back in.

The Producers (musical, they cut out three of the best songs, including the opening!!)

AOTC (Padme's best scenes)

ROTS (ditto)

X-Men: Last Stand (Let it breath!!)

LOTR (I know we've got 12 hours, I don't care!! MORE!!!!)

Anyone else want to chime in?

Mad Max There is said to be a scene where he cuts the shotgun down and one where he and goose test drive the black interceptor and it runs out of gas or dies while chasing someone.

All of the F13th movies.

AOTC would benefit more from a re-edit rather than extended edition. Re-insert footage with Padme on Naboo but excise other scenes (C-3PO/Battle Droid footage, Padme meeting with the Naboo Queen, etc.)

ROTS would benefit from having the Rebellion scenes re-inserted. Perhaps Dagobah would work but it may be one too many ending montages. Leave out the extended opening footage and re-insert Anakin killing Shaak-Ti in the Temple and either add Liam Neeson's voice or just get rid of the Qui-Gon reference.

As for X3, burn it and start over from scratch with a better script. Bring Singer back for it. :)

I would like to see the Sith Probe encounter with Quigon and Ani reinsterted. I agree about AOTC... It could benefit from re-editing rather than an extended cut. That crap scene in the field where Ani and Padma are rolling around like in Sound of Music needs to be burned and forgotten, while the deleted scenes with her family and in her bedroom add alot to their relationship that was missing from the final cut.

X3 for sure. I thought the TC was pretty decent but it could be so much better with more.

As far as more footage added into LOTR and SW sure as long as they add to the story.

X3 was fine without singer. just needs some extra punch to it.
superman returns could do with some re-editing "less is more."
ROTS needs the rebellion scenes added and would like the qui gon scene added as well. maybe show some more of anakin going nuts in the temple.
Ultraviolet needs a director's cut bad. supposedly there was a lot cut out due to meeting time restrictions that the director didnt want cut out.

There is an unrated/extended cut!

The only scene I'd like finishing and re-inserting into AOTC would be the raid on the Droid Control Ship led by Ki-Adi Mundi and Plo Koon. Some more cool Jedi action would be a lot more intresting than the totally dull scenes with Padme's family. Besides which I'm of the opinion that the less Padme, the better and I think George Lucas should digitally replace her in all 3 prequels with someone who actually sounds like they are intrested in what they are doing. ROTS would be better if the "Yoda talks to Qui-Gon" scene had been left in even if you only heard Liam Neeson's voice. Also the Darth Vader "NOOOOOOOO!!" scene could do with changing. Instead of crushing a few things and whining like a ***** he should have totally snapped and tried to kill Palpatine upon learning of Padme's death, forcing Palpy to show him who's the daddy when it comes to controlling the Dark Side :emperor :emperor :emperor

I would love to see the deleted scenes from LOTR. I wouldn't want them added in unless they fit, but I would still like to see them. I always hate it when I listen to a commentary on a dvd and they talk about a deleted scene and then it is not included on the dvd. I would also like to see extended versions of gangs of new york and the thin red line. When those movies came out I remember hearing that the first cuts of those were over 4 hours.

Superman Returns. There's a lot of stuff from the beginning that was cut out.

-His journey on Krypton.
-His discovering the ship and X-ray vision as a child.
-Ben Hubbard.
-Clark looking through all of the newspaper articles featuring stories about Superman during his absense.
-His struggle to determine whether or not he should return as Superman in a closet in the Daily Planet building.
-etc...

They inserted the deleted footage from Battle for the Planet of the Apes with it's last release.
I would like to see the cut footage from Planet, Beneath, Escape, and Conquest put back in the Apes films. They are all begging for extended cuts.

If anyone here is a history or a musical fan, check out the DVD of 1776. An excellent film made so much better by the return of a lot of deleted footage, some of which was actually ordered removed by the Nixon administration!

I remember watching 1776 when I was in middle school. wasn't there a song in there about salt peter.

My favorite two songs are towards the end. One is a defense of slavery by Edward Rutledge (of South Carolina), which is an incredible song called "Molasses to Rum to Slaves", and the other is John Adams alone in the chamber, wondering if anyone else can see the vision of America he's been fighting for.
