Hi all quick question. I walked into a local pwn shop yesterday to find a Mr Vader helmet. Looks like its in great shape and i think i could score it for 350$-400$

Im not exactly sure what the going rate is for this I haven't been able to find any for sale as of late! I don't really have the money to drop on this unless its a really great deal!

What's u guys think? Im guessing the new efx helm has devalued this one a bit?

I think if he says MR like in Master Replicas, it can only be the ROTS. And for $350-400, if in perfect shape with everything, it is a steal.

Jump on it!!! That's a bargain!

The EFX bucket is from ANH, which was originally hand crafted helmet and asymetric in places. EFX recreated that look. The ROTS helmet was built in a CAD and 3d printed, so it's different. Every SW film had a different Vader helmet.

There are collectors who want both. I wouldn't worry about one devaluing vs. the other.

.

The eFX ANH and the MR RotS are two different helmets from two different movies. Both are as close to their screen used counterparts as you can get from a licensed offering There should be no reason why one would devalue the other.

And if the MR is in good condition, then it is indeed a steal.

Sigh guess all have to drop the 400$ tommorow if its really that good of a price. My wife is gonna freak out cause money is tight an i been doing good lately not buying anything!

I believe its movie accurate to ROTS, its a very nice helm & well finished, I lot different looking to the ANH I just got which is better in another way its the real Vader :wink1:. at $400 it's a steal & I'd probably buy a second if my local had it for that price

Thanks shock your a good friend. I like the way u have your helmed displayed looks really good. Anikin underneath byhimself very clean i like it.

The one thing I just remembered there is no box. Did this originally come with a COA? To me the box dosnt matter but part of me just wants to rescue the helm from the pawn shop even if I decided to find it a good home. Hmm think on this I will.

:) The display has changed now for the better or worse ....
it should have a book & plaque, I'm not sure of the going price on these I buy to collect & in Australia if you buy for profit you've lost your money :)...without the box may affect the value.... I can only tell compared to what I paid it's good price with or without the box in mint cond....

Hey dude. What's the 12" looking Anakin below the helmet? It looks waaaay too good to be the SSC - looks more like a statue?

SSC sith apprentice all the way mate, just with a little water treatment nothing else. still in the same pose all these yrs later

Looks AMAZING! The draped robe is so perfect it looks sculpted, the base is insane, and a really solid, striking pose.

Would you mind taking a couple of closer snap shots?

Thanks.

Forget that last post. Jumped on eBay and low and behold one was there for 160 shipped.

Sold! :yess:

Didn't realize they'd done a SDCC exclusive (which of course is yours). Wow, what a difference in presentation to the standard edition!

You're gonna have to give me some tips on how to futz the cloak like yours...:wave

LOL, you really don't sound too enthusiastic about it.

Anyway, it's close to screen accurate. Not 100% exact, but the closest you can get, other than buying production casts. No fan made helmet rivals the MR in accuracy, unlike with the OT helmets, where the fan helmets still remain king.

Its just money lol id love to own this. We Have a quite bit of money put away but its not coming in like it used to!

To easy, You'll have to redress it out of the box then pose ( I went for the order 66 scene walk to the temple) spray the cloak from a water bottle til it's soaked, you'll find the jedi cloaks can then be shaped using ur fingers like an iron, put any creases you want in and let it dry it will keep the shape
