UPDATE: wow, what a difference four years of painting heads makes! I have repainted this guy once again! Scroll to the end for how he looks now.
I thought I'd post this here as this is where everyone goes for all the Predator customs/repaints. 2013 update: I think a new area has been created since 2009 so if any mod wants to move this.... That'd be great.
First I owe a shout out to P!tu for the solid quill insertion how-to video! Les gets a shout out for giving me the inspiration by posting the gorgeous work he did on his Elder head -- and for posting the reference photo of the actual film prop!
And for that matter I owe a shout out all customizers who are brave enough to post their work on this board for all to see!
I was having some writer's block in Feb. and got some paint at the back-to-school sale at the art supply store and started futzing on the discoloration around the quills. Before I knew it I had repainted everything but the dreads!
He could use about 10 or so quills for his chinny-chin-chin but whatever. That was a case of not having a way to make the beard look good when I planned them all out and only later figuring out to make them work. Too late.
He's my first repainted figure and I wasn't sure if he'd look okay at the end of it. I hope people likes him.
NOTE: It was easier painting this guy than it was to photograph him!
The tattoos on the cheeks were a bugger to make natural!
And here's my 2.0 -- the repaint, repainted
More pictures are in my customs thread.
