Just one review tonight - Sideshow's Bespin Han Solo. We're going to see a bunch of Star Wars releases from Sideshow in the next few weeks, and Han is just the start of the flood. Yes, he's got some chubby cheeks, but it looks like the paint is the real culprit. I also had a couple issues with the outfit, but after playing with him for awhile I ended up on the happy side.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading,

:lol A Connor pic and an hommage to Custom Mickey !!!! your trying to be a diplomat here Michael??? loollll:lol :lol

Fair review as always Michael, maybe you could have called SSC CS and received a replacement belt/holster. I'm sure they would have sent you one without cost or problem. That is what many customers have come to appreciate about Sideshow but unfortunately your review is based soley on the item received so I understand that is what you base your score on. Still most collectors know mass produced factory items do have some defects from time to time and knowing Sideshow could have done this should have been noted. It made you sound a little pissy IMO... :D

I thought your points about the body were very well thought out as it has been a topic of discussion here on the boards. And I really appreciated your comments on that subject, namely a possible solution being improving the body elements part by part vs investing in a whole new body design.

The mynock is hard plastic? I don't know where you got that from. It seems to be made of a soft vinyl material and the wings bend easily, it's just that they will return to their original shape but hard plastic? Not so...

Overall very fair review and I love how you really cover so many aspects in your reviews, you are clearly the best reviewer out there. Many thanks.

Ah, but if you want to be considered at the top of your game, no one should have to call for a replacement part on a new figure. Sideshow has the best customer service out there, but the expectation is that it shouldn't have issues like that for this kind of cost.

That depends on your definition of 'hard' I suppose. I wouldn't call the mynock soft, which is what you're calling it. It's not so hard as to be brittle, but it's not soft in my definition of the word. But then, I've gotten used to the much softer accessories we get with mass market toys - those are where my idea of soft comes from.

This is true, unfortunately a bunch of collectors (including myself) received our Hot Toys Robocop with head paint damage because it was stuck to the plastic tray and never dried properly at the factory. I'm glad you didn't get one of those.:lol I consider Hot Toys at the top of their game on this figure as you also seemed to agree in your great four star review but $hit happens. :D

hopefully it will be resolved soon -- anyway, thanks again MWC :D

A great review as always, I still would tend to gravitate towards the ***1/2 range on him, but I didn't have the wardrobe malfunctions and I was less bothered by the sculpt. I am a bit disapointed with the paint cuts on the hairline, and maybe it would be better for sideshow to always use separately sculpted hair to keep this from happening?

Here is to hoping Obi brings home the first (of many) **** reviews for Sideshow's Star Wars line!

Nice review Mike. I agree with a little of it.

As far as the issues effecting the raiting. Well, I personally wouldn't hold that against the figure. I expect things perfect but if they aren't then it happens. They just do. I would wait for my replacement to give a final judging on the figure. It's your review though so you can do as you please. :D

I was surprised at the Mynock due to the fact I read people saying it was soft plastic. I did not think it was soft at all. It is a little flexible, but is made of pretty stiff plastic. I would agree with Mike in that it seems to be fairly hard.

Great review as always Mike, also nice nod to CustoMikey too. But if Han looks half as cool as he does in your review then I will be more than impressed. Also nice way to end the review, "but we haven't yet gotten the elusive perfection.". Nice. :chew

Unless something differs greatly from the Prototype, I think Jabba will be a four star figure (thing?). The size, deatail, and pure awesomeness of the whole set up was amazing at SDCC. Same with Obi-Wan, if he looks like the proto (which I think Brant said he did) then I wouldn't doubt a four star review. He looked awesome at SDCC. The only thing is I wish I had spent more time looking at the other figures besides Jabba  It was hypnotic!

Yeah, if Obi looks like what he did at SDCC then I think we might just have our first 4 star or 10/10.

Good and fair review Michael! I find it important that you address the flaws, and actually bring them into account for you rating! If there's something wrong with the merchandise, it should be said. Even if you can get a replacement on the double. Carry on like that!
