Some people have asked about how the chain mail was accomplished. To me this forum is about sharing techniques and helping each other so I'm adding a few tips for what I used.
For the chain mail metal I found an old metal mesh purse and cut out a pattern I though would work. After much trial and error (and looking at images/costums/statues etc online so much my wife started wondering why half naked red heads kept popping up when I was onnline) I pieced this together.
I added jewellery loops for the straps to go in. (This was an early version for a test body)
I then used both leather string and leather craft lace.
I used the leather lace for the neck and the leather string for the chest.
The shoulder pauldrons are knee armour from SSC Baroness!
I usrd two loops to help "cup" the breast better. (My wifes suggestion actually!)
The critch armor was the most difficult since cutting at an angle is not possible with the meash. So I had to be play with it a bit.
I then used a spare piece for her hip guard as well.
So there you have it. Just a few more tweaks and she's done! I need to add gloved hands and her arm bands. I have a few ideas on how I'll accomplish those...
I plan to try making some male chaimail armor with some black mesh soon. Once I do (if it turns out) ill post it. If anyone finds some easier/better techniques please share. The more we learn from each other the better we will all get at this hobby!
