You've waited a long time. I've had mine(#114) for a couple years, and wouldn't part with him. Be careful posing him;the materials are not strong enough to support an upright stance for the long run. After much experimenting I have mine in a 3-point stance, with an appropriately scaled female figure in his right hand...PS

Awesome!! Congrats! Where did you get it and how much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking for one for awhile now.

Congrats man! My personal favorite piece as well. Great price too, as you don't see them very often.

Prepare to fend off those you show it to though- everyone wants to repose it. :emperor

I'm not that much of a King Kong fan, but this looks VERY nice. Pays homage to a classic. Congratulations Avfin. :rock

Thanks--I had to tighten him a few times to get get right--wish he came with case- I may have to get a case to make it harder for people to want to play

Whatever you do, keep him safe! :horror

Even I have heard about the rareness of this piece and I spend all of my time in the Marvel section. :lol This one is a keeper.

There are reasons why you don't see these guys very often...
1) Small edition size(500!)
2) Kong fans are ferociously loyal to their God...PS

Id guess the reason you dont see them often is probably only diehard fans picked this piece up in the first place. Its not "cool" looking for flashy, its all about being a tribute to a classic and mmore than likely was purchased by collectors that planned on keeping him from the start ...

Ive seen pictures of this statue before, but Ive never understood what it exactly is. Is it the skeleton beneath the costume or something?

yeah its a replica of the armature used in one of the (There are 2 different versions) Kong puppets that were animated in the original 1933 King Kong.
Bob Burns has the original in his collection
