I promised a full comparison tonight of the Medicom, Hot Toys and Takara sixth scale Batman Begins figures, and that's what you get. When I first looked at all three together, I thought it was going to be tough to pick a winner, but by the time I was done, it became clear that one is better overall than the other two, and while your results may vary, I've written up all the pros and cons (with lots of comparison photos) for you to make a very informed decision. However, it's a long one - I'm betting around 5 thousand words - so be prepared for a read.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great review as always. Any chance we could get a picture of the Takara figure witht the Bale head and hood on like you mentioned? If I got this one, I'd probablly like to display it like that, so a picture would be much appreciated.

Great review! I am sorry to hear about you HT bats arm. The same thing happenend to me with my HT supes left arm. It came off after I turned it a couple of times. I took out the neck and tightened the screw that was used to attach the arm to the shoulder. It wasn't screwed in properly so that's why it came off so easily! Best of Luck!

Thanks Michael, for a fair and comprehensive review as per usual, very much appreciated!

Everyone's heard my comments so I won't repeat them. I'm very happy with my HT figure and hope everyone else is happy with their Batman too because the bottom line here is we are all big time Batman fans.

Hi everyone!!

I have been gone a while from this board with my move and all. Thanks Micheal for your great review!! It's very well balanced and honest. I appreciate your professionalism. I purchased the Takara Batman after first ordering the Hot Toys version. There are definitely things that I like about the Hot Toys version, such as the cape and the armour. However, that Takara head sculpt is what really won me over. I just hope that some customizer will make custom lined capes for the Takara Batman. I know I would purchased one in a New York minute!!! Thanks.

Brad

Yes, it did. It has better articulated arms. I suspect mine popped loose - now I'll have to see what HT is going to do about it.

Of course, I could have not told you that it popped loose. But then you wouldn't have all the info you need.

And considering that Takara wins in the articulation department, I'm not sure what you're complaining about. Oh, wait. Now I know.

Thanks for the great, comprehensive review!! I was disappointed that you didn't include the DC Direct version though. Boy those Tak boots are FUGLY!!

Keep up the good work Michael!

Very informative comparison review - top -cleared up my doubts.

I can only buy one, but now I am afraid for the rubber suit : how long will it last? (think it will be the same with the Metaluna Mutant and Gillman)

This is keeping me from the final jump into bankruptcy (all those magnificent toys these days...)

Quick Robin to the Batcave and hide for the bailif !

I can't answer that for the other two, but the Hot Toys version feels very much like the suit on the Creature and the Metaluna Mutie.
Great review as always Michael!

I have a 20 year old action-man (think in USA they call it GI JOE) with a rubber diver suit - the suit is completely rotten!

Ok - times have changed, better materials are used, but it would be a waste to see this Batman naked in the future.

I really wonder what guarantees the companies give.

Maybe I am flipping , but it cost a lot of money.

A well written and informative review as usual. But I'm taking half a star away from your review for not including The Donald in any of the photos with Bruce Wayne. They're two of the richest men on the planet, it would have been the perfect photo op.

I'd need a new wide angle lens...:D

As to the rubber suit - we've heard in recent years that the rubber they are using now won't be subject to breaking down like the old days. Of course, only time will actually tell. As I said in the review, storing/displaying in a cool place will help a lot.

And what guarantees are there in life? None. But some risks are worth taking anyway.:chew
