I said I'd be covering some more dioramas soon - tonight I'm looking at the City of Tanis Map Room, Sideshow's latest entry into their sixth scale Indy line up. It's not cheap, but you get a mighty nice addition to the shelf. You can find the review at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great review Michael, sorry to hear about the packaging mishap and damage due :gah:

It I just had enough room....:panic: I'd be all over this dio.

Thanks for the review!

From the in-hand pictures I've seen, it does look like the back wall is just a tad too short. He seems much taller than the wall which makes the whole thing look too small for him. He looks better in the dio when he's tucked behind the slab on a lower step, or crouching low.

Anyone who owns it care to chime in?

I've had my maproom for over a week now, but this is one review I've been waiting for. I too had a broken piece that seemed to have happened within the packaging; it was what looked like chair armrests at the very edge of the front, though only one of the two "armrests" broke and I didn't notice this until after I've had the dio already on display and the broken piece was on the sofa.

Thanks for the review, MWC!

Great review as always!
Sorry to hear about the broken piece :( I hope this and the Stormtrooper PF are just two rare cases where the packading causes broken pieces.

Excellent review, sir. I agree wholeheartedly. :clap

And mine had a broken bit, too! Probably the same piece. (As Superado said, it was the bit that looks like the arm of a chair.) I wonder if lots of other folks are having the same breakage issue. It was no biggie for me. A couple drops of superglue took care of everything.

I'm not bothered by the height, personally. I've got my Indy standing in the classic "light coming through the roof" stance with the Staff of Rah. Love it.

Yeah, it takes up a LOT of room, but I'm an Indy fanatic, so that's fine with me.

Overall, it's an excellent piece and I do hope Sideshow moves ahead with their long rumored Mine Cart Diorama. (And maybe HT can give us at least a few of the figures that should go with it!)

Saw this dio on display in the window of FP in London and it too had damage to what sounds like the same area. Sounds like a common fault.
