Go Hero has just released a bunch of their Ray Harryhausen inspired sixth scale figures, and I'm checking out both the regular and Zoloworld exclusive versions of the Skeleton Warriors tonight. Great sculpt, excellent paint, good accessories...and even a good price, especially for the regular version. The only flaw is in the limited articulation, but at least they stand standing on their own.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Wow, he's a troll for the ages. :lol

Anyway, great review, Michael. I've been on the fence about these. Worth it to build a skeleton army for (relatively) cheap. No interest in the other greek myth figures though.

i love michaels site. its a great site to look up something i missed and want to look into buying. i like pics showing how a new version is compared to an old version too. keep up this site for a long LONG time michael!

Thanks!

And yea, if they make more Harryhausen related stuff, I'm on it like hair on a bear. They'ev announced a Cyclops, so that's a must buy...but I could have swore they'd announced a Ymir too, but now I can't find it.

Its funny, but I actually feel the opposite way about the two versions... the regular looks a bit better to me. And even funnier, the double teeth is very present on my GITD, but not the regulars.

BTW... they are best in a pack :lecture

Great pics, GB. I think I like how the regular one looks over the glow version. Maybe it's the lighting, but it looks more like actual bone.

wow, i've been on the fence about these but i may just have to pick up 1........or 2............or 3. dammit joseph..........they do look better in a group.......

Thanks for the review Mike.

The Skeletons are the best thing thus far this year. :monkey3

I'm loving mine.

That's how I feel about them... in hand the regulars actually look like they are made of bone.

A 3-pack for $120 is a steal IMO. Do it... you will not regret it.

The articulation is limited (as Michael said) but honestly... given the fact its a skeleton I don't know if much more could have been done. I guess the joints could be wires, but don't think it would look as nice, or be durable long term.

Yep, that's as low as it goes. I'm guessing that is Zoloworld's eBay account (name is Zolotronics). You can also just order it from Zoloworld for the same price.

I'm wondering if the elbow - female joint- could be dremmeled (spelling?) a little to allow for more articulation.

You could work on the joints - and the shoulders really need some sort of cut so that they arm can turn outward from the body.

As to the head sculpts, I don't think that the GITD and regulars have only the one head - I think the two different heads are available both ways. Which gets further into the whole 'limited' thing...which version is really the most limited? We may never know...

Who goes to that site anymore to read those bad reviews?

are you serious? Everybody loves the service that MC provides through his reviews and the amount of expense he goes through as a collector, to bring us an objective view of collectibles.

The lack of inward and outward movement in the arms is the one big negative for me. You can get a bit... but not as much as I would like. It seems like their was more of an emphasis on aesthetics than poseability. A cut joint could have been added to the upper arm, but of course that would not look like a solid bone. Or double joints could have been added... but again you'd have large/obvious joints connecting the limbs.

What I'm most surprised by is that the joints aren't loose... I half expected the figures to be unable to hold a pose.

I don't go to your site anymore because I spend way too much money after reading your reviews. I end up getting stuff I have decided I am not going to get.

:D

but seriously, great reviews as usual.

I go to your site a lot Michael, it's the dog's bollocks.:joy

In fact, have a Dancing Chewie on me.:chew
