Super Freak
HI Freaks!
This is Part 1 of 3........
I just came back home from a wonderful 3 day Comic Con adventure and I loved every single minute there. I saw a lot of things but Sideshow was where I spent most of my time.
I saw a lot of great pieces there and I would like to give you guys a brief review of the new pieces coming out. I know this only reflets my own opinion, but it might give you giys a better idea from a different prospective.....
NEYTIRI STATUE
I was pleasantly surprise to see it there. It is a statue not a premium format, but it looks amazingly beautiful. It is a 1/5 or 1/6 scale but it looks like a 1/4 scale, considering it size in the movie. The paint job is really well done and the exclusive will be a switch out hands holding the daggers.
The face looks awesome and the only critic I would have is the hair line which seems detached from the head. Considering it is a prototype, I hope it gets fixed.....
OPTIMUS PRIME
Wow!!!!
What can I say about this piece...it is amazing....there so much detail that you get lost in it. The amount of little parts and the concern of getting this piece as accurate as possible made this the highlight of Sideshow booth.
The base itself is huge....I could not find a shelf in my house to hold that. It is truly Sideshow Masterpiece so far.
The paint job was also well done. It is not a straight paint job. It has dents and scratches and a lot of little things that indicate that he was in a battle. There was no price tag but someone from Sideshow said that we should be surprise if costs around $1200.....In my opinion, worth every penny. There is no piece that compares to how intricate and detailed this maquette is.
The 2010 piece of the year....
HULK COMIQUETTE
I have to say that this piece surprised me. I was not into it when it was revealed, but seeing it up close is a totally different experience. I loved it.... It is really big and it has a lot of movement. The face is really well done and although it has more muscles that it should, it works well with the character and the style. I think it is a piece to consider if you love Hulk and something that will stand out in your collection...
BTW, the hair didn't bother me as much once I saw the whole thing. It actually look okay once you see it in person....
IRON MAN 2 and WAR MACHINE MAQUETTES
To me, they were the ones I want the most. They look awesome and if you are a fan of the movie and a 1/4 scale collector, you won't find anything better. I love it and it is on my priority list. War Machine in particular is great and ...well....pictures speak louder than words....
More reviews and comments later today......
Keep tuned and have a great day....
