Freaked Out
Hi,
My name is Danno - I'm from Queensland, Australia. I'm in my early dirty thirties, I work in IT, am a total Batman geek and addicted to lifting.
I've collected various odds and sods over the years but nothing of much worth and not with any passion... More OCD than anything.
As a kid I used to collect lead fantasy characters, play D&D and read the living shiznit out of Batman & The Phantom; (occasionally spicing things up with a little Wolverine).
Then for many years it all dropped away. I still loved Batman, but outside of giving Nolan some coin, my passion was mostly +10 cloak of invisibility.
I didn't try to keep up with the comics - too much had happened for me to catch back up and, quite surprisingly, purporting to know the real name of the Joker does not get a teenager laid.
Then when DC rebooted the New 52 my mate and I reviewed them over at my website and I discovered that I was completely hooked on the Bat books again. (Some new #1's for Hulk and X-Men were welcome too). I'm also completely hooked on Snyder's American Vampire - but that's another story for another time.
I started picking up some first printings of the #1's, probably like 10,000,000,000 others, in the hope that one day they'll be worth something and then, *snap*, just like that - I was bitten by the collector's bug. I started ordering signed comic prints to cover the walls and all of a sudden cheap, dispensible items like Riddler "Pez" became something to buy and keep in a box.
Then one day the mate that I wrote the review of the New 52 with showed me his latest eBay acquisition: a Hot Toy's Pred...
OH...
SWEET...
BABY.JESUS...
The. Detail.
A short while later I found pictures of the 89 Keaton and Nicholson HT's online and pretty much did ..

Anyhoo, as I don't have any kids, I was ill-equipped at the time to provide the blood of my first born required to own these magnificent specimens.
So I had to bide my time and wait. Long story short, I got both via eBay last week for a price I was happy with (cheaper than I was quoted by an Aussie distributor at launch) and the little pixies at EMS are happily transporting them to me as I type.
I am so excited to get them into my Detolf and get all Gollum on them that I could pee.
So, while I've stalked these boards for some time now... much like Stacy in Wayne's World... I've had no legitimate reason to register and post.
Until now.
I hope my ridiculous level of childlike glee and passion will help make up for my extreme n00bedness.
