Any NASA or Space Shuttle collectors on here? I have a small collection of the Space shuttle. Planning on picking this up. It's made by BANDAI. This looks awesome.

I have had this exact Tamiya kit pictured below since..wow maybe 1992..someday, maybe.

Hard to believe there will soon be no more shuttle. I always envisioned riding one to the moon colony we surely would have established by now when I was younger. :lol

Cape Canaveral is a great place to go and see everything thats retired at the Kennedy Space Center.

It really is an end of an era. I dont even remember the space program before the space shuttle...

I sent all of mine into outer space. And by "outer space" I mean the garbage can.

:lol:lol:lol NOT!

My college professor worked for NASA, she had some cool stories. She also had models but they were probably the "teacher" type, not collectible.

I think stopping the shuttle is a mistake.

Anyway, the only think I have is a couple of Micro Machine sets.

Kal-El, not sure if you would consider Legos in your collection, but I thought this was pretty cool:
(sorry, this was the first I came across...the file's a little too big :D)

My father-in-law worked for a number of years at NASA back in the 70s and 80s. He even had some type of involvement in the design of the space shuttle tiles.

You can find it right now at amazon for $90 USD. That's the cheapest I've seen it go but keep looking around.

Slightly off topic:
Did NASA mention why they are retiring the Space Shuttle?
A new spacecraft in the works perhaps?
