Just In case you dont know those are 2 diffrent rickenbackers the rickenbacker john used on the first sulliven apperance was a rickenbacker 325c58 john customized it.By the time the guitar was on sulliven it was badley beaten up.

The black and white rickenbacker is a whole diffrent guitar it was given to John by rickenbacker for the second sulliven apperance.It has a smaller body and rickenbacker stock parts the only change john made was adding a set list.

His 325c58 was his favorite gutiar.

I own a real mapleglo rickenbacker 325c58 with lennons hamburg mods and a 350 copy with sulliven mods.I weathered my copy so every scratch,dent,knick,rust,cracks etc are in the same places as johns.

I used to have a black and white 325 but I sold it last month I like the 325c58 more.

When you have somone make you the guitar reamber john played only short scale rickenbackers not full scale rickenbackers.

To me, the Rickenbacker is like a Steinway piano... Not just an instrument, its a work of art... Hmmm, I should be writing commercials.

ps I believed the Rickenbacker that John played on the first Sullivan appearance was the 325 c.58. He had a black finish added to it (the Sullivan appearance was the last time he used it live), which he later stripped back down to the original finish by the time he used it on the Double Fantasy sessions.

Shure ill post some pics of them later today I'll even do a group shot.I love beatle guitars.My sulliven is just like his exept its a full scale copy guitar and I had it refinished with relic paint so it has all these cracks in the paint job.I bought that guitar 2 years before I bought the 325c58 mg.

Ive read that brian wanted john to have the guitar painted black because john was the only member of the band with a unpainted guitar.Its just a rumor only john knows why.Yes for the double fantasy album he had the guitar refinished in a honey brown color and had a white pickguard added to the body and new machine heads.I love his rickenbacker their is so much mystery to that guitar.

I have one thing in common with john and his rickenbacker 325c58 mg John was 19teen when he bought his and so was I.It was a proud day for me I always wondered what it would feel like to walk out of the guitar shop with a rickenbacker.It was my first REAL guitar.

So on Sullivan it was black and gold? awesome, I never knew that (makes sense since I the image in my mind is the black and white film of the appearance).

This custom is going to totally rock. If it turns out well I may do all the boys.

Heres some pics the mapleglo guitar is an exact replica of johns rickenbacker 325c58 MG after he first made mods to it before the black paint job.The black guitar is how it looked when the beatles preformed on the ed sulliven show for the first time.

The only major diffrence is that the black guitar should be the same body size as the mapleglo guitar.The mapleglo guitar is a short scale guitar and the black guitar is full scale you want your guitar to be short scale.

Could get me measurements if its not too much trouble? It would be easier to scale it down if I knew what the dimensions are.

I know a guy in my city who makes miniature electric guitars that were used by famous musicians. I think they maybe 1:6 scale. Only 30 US each.

I can find out if he can make you one if he doesn't have one made already.
