*NEW* Cleaner Hot Toys Box vs. Old Hot Toys Box

For those curious before you get your own. I got my Cleaner Predator today and here is a size comparison of the new box vs. the old box.

Length-wise the box is little less than HALF the length of the original HT box. It's width however is about twice the width of the original box. However, it is certainly a great improvement for storing these boxes if you wish to do so and I hope that Hot Toys sticks with this new box style for figures it is appropriate for. Hopefully the upcoming Dark Knight figures will be in boxes this big (or perhaps slightly smaller).

Thank the maker! For collectors that keep their boxes, the motto is: the smaller, the better. Hell, if you keep your boxes, the box-collection can turn out to be even "bigger" than the actual items! Throwing boxes away, is not an option, so, once again, the smaller, the better! Good move HT!

I'm not a big fan of packaging. Other than protection, I think they're a waste of resources. Having said that, this box looks mighty nice, but I do miss the pics of the figure and the MM-look.
I mean, this could be a Rocketeer box.

But I guess the new box is kinda good.

The older boxers were my fave though , they really deserved to be featured in the...

I was always hoping for a shiny predator 1 box to go with the predator 2 one.

wish they would have taken some of the old style and put it into the new design. I like the reflection and the pics of the old box, it has more POP. this new one just seems a little bland. but sence I don't have mine in hand yet I'll have to wait and see for myself.

PLUS 10 points for the new box. I think it looks awesome. I always keep doubles and triples and always found the old boxes a bit hard to store. This new box is super cool and awesome.

as much as l love opening up the shipping carton and seeing the huge box, I'm glad they did this. much easier to store.

Ok, just to add a little bit more.

The cover does have a shiny foil to it...but it is not as prominent and reflective as the original. I still love the design of the box as it looks to be part of the Predator's backpacks or something. I think it is modeled after the Cleaner Kit isn't it?

There seems like a lot more plastic!!! And it is somewhat more of a pain to get it off. People who want to keep the plastic might have to take their time getting it open because you can tear away the plastic "covers" that are around but there's also some tape along them as well. It is not as easy as the older packages to open up...of course it's not hard...but you'll be taking it slower if you want to keep the plastic. The middle has a black cardboard tower which has the instructions on all four sides (pretty cool and unique!). Be careful because the netting AND the small bag filled with the spring tubes are inside this cardboard tower.

I do like the smaller packaging as it is easier to store, but taking the figures out and keeping that inside plastic in good shape is annoying!

Thank goodness it's usually just the Alien/Predator figures that we have to put together.

I'm a fan of the old box style. It would have been nice if HT's could have just improved on that with a full window inside the book flap front. I never did like the "cut out" highlighting of certain parts. There's only going to be a minimal saving of shelf space with these...

Don't have my own yet, but did have a chance to give the package a good once over the other day. I got the same impression as what Bardoon just described, even without having opened it. The size is great, got no problem at all with that.

The box art is, well, "okay", but looks pretty standard to me. It doesn't make nearly the same impression as the previous MMS packaging. The way everything was packed inside, I imagined it would be a real chore getting everything out of there in one piece. Bardoon's description just confirmed it.

FACEBOX, if you're listening, I'm gonna follow your advice with this one, and have myself a couple shots of tequila before getting started!

i'm not sure if i like the design, although it does look like you're flying through **** valley.

Yea I did like the convenience of the old box. Sad to see that go. Maybe the next Pred will get something else even better?

new box looks good. Appears to the eye to be smaller, but only because it is now square and not a long thin rectangle.
