Just found this while surfin' the net.

FuRyu continues their great line of collectibles with a new AvP Alien bust.

Measures 6" tall.

Not a bad sculpt. Hopefully they'll do other Aliens and some Preds.

i think its looks awful... the alien head looks like its plonked onto some brickwork... i'd rather shoulders/ribs for a bust...normally i love furyu :(

I think they need to start moving on to some of the other movies, like AvP:R.

I know they did a Predalien, but I'd like to see more.

Especially a Wolf Pred figure.

Furyu is cool, and the original AVP designs are... well, I dunno what it is about them. There's just something so appealing there.

Personally, I like this bust, but the base is iffy... There's just no way to justify spending $40 on it. Maybe if it was $25-$30.

Hey Sabres, did you get your bust in yet? I'm interested in seeing some in-hand pics/impressions. Also, where did you order yours from? My usual importers dont seem to have this.

Aaahh...Japan...where else can you walk down the street, walk up to one of those crane toy machines and score yourself a cool Alien collectible?

Gotta love it.

Thanks to the fine folks at FuRyu, we're treated to another cool crane prize.
This time, they've branched out from their figure making, with this very cool AvP Alien Warrior bust.

When I originally saw it, I thought they may have just taken the head off of their AvP Alien figure and slapped it on a base.
This is not the case. This is a whole new sculpt! And a great one at that.

This piece is much bigger than the figure, and is actually bigger than the 1:6 Hot Toys AvP Alien.
I'd put this bust at about 1:5 scale.

The head and under-dome area are very nicely sculpted. The mouth area, with all the tendons is especially well sculpted.
It even includes some slime drips coming out of it's mouth.
The base itself is very detailed. Lots of skulls, Predator and Alien glyphs and the hive material is well done.

I really hope they continue this line and include a Predator or Predalien bust.

On to the pics.
I've included a shot with the original FuRyu Alien figure and a Hot Toys Alien figure for scale.

I got mine off of eBay of all places.

They don't even have it on YahooJapan yet.

That is one nice bust. The only issue I have with it would be the paint app on the teeth. Just looks... too simple and somewhat sloppy to fit in with the rest of the Alien's gorgeous paintjob.

i think your expectations are a little high for a crane machine prize.
that said, it has a better paint app than the McF figures did.

True, true. Not bad for a crane machine prize at all... I wish they'd have such things here. You either settle for a stuffed animal, or keep your 50 cents. I really need to go to Japan sometime...

And it's NECA that I'm more a fan of :).

Yeah, it's just a crane machine prize, so I'm not expecting MARMIT sculpt quality.

I don't know how much they pay for them in Japan, but it's about $40 shipped to get it in the U.S.

And how much to work a crane machine in Japan?? Dude, that's a steal. Still a very nice piece. All we need is a Predator. I'd then buy both, and use 'em as bookends or something along the borders of my shelf.

Dunno what it is about FuRyu, but I like their style a lot. I'm not sure how to describe it... It's like the details are great, but very simple and to the point (which I know doesn't make much sense lol). Everything on them is just so well-defined and clean.

Oh, I agree completely.
I love their stuff.

I'm seriously hoping for a Predalien and Predator bust in this series.

I can only hope they'll do a Predalien! They seem to be holding on to AVP for dear life, though. The Predator seems like the only bust we can really safely expect (well, at least a little bit).
If they really wanted to milk AVP in busts, I wouldn't mind an Elder, Celtic, Chopper, etc. Maybe a Queen and a Grid variant? Sounds far-fetched, but I'd gladly take those if a Predalien bust was out of the question.
