Medicom really outdid themselves with Boba. It pretty much is the definitive version. The SS SW fanbase are kidding themselves if they think this will be the same standard. This isn't me hating on SS as their SS aliens are amazing and I buy both lines. It's just honest truth.

I think the Sideshow version will be f'n fantastic -but they definatly have their work cut our for them as Medicom raised the bar. Hopefully Sideshow sticks with an ESB version to start.

Got my fig from CCG Armory and they shipped it in a Fudgesicle box :huh

The box was crushed and so was the Medi box on one end. Luckily the figure came undamaged.

SSCs will make a nice Boba Fett and it will have it's pros & cons like this one. I just personally fell that they will still have the spinning armor problem that they have yet to completely solve and that always bugs the crap outta me when I'm trying to pose the dayum figs. Medi has never had that problem. The spinning armor, to me, makes the figure feel cheap. Add that to the loose wizard of oz scarecrow body and the things seem like rag dolls. Luckily for us they seem to have tackled the loose base body issue.

Oh yeah, this figure rocks!

X2!

That's what i'm worried about with SS's Boba. Hate the loose fitting armor on their figs, and the loose joints. IMO every SS fan should get this figure. (especially since the scale junkies don't have to worry about it now) This figure is aces, SS will not top it, best they can do is be on par. And that will be a feat for them. If they make an ESB version i will probably get it.

Just love this figure.

:exactly:

Boba doesn't have any armor that would be "spinning" like the troopers and the SS bodies have gotten a lot better. I haven't received any floppy bodies in a long time.

That's what I said...they've solved the loose body issue. Their bodies still aren't as tight as Medicom but they are much much better to the point that it is satisfactory.

No Boba doesn't have armor that could spin but he does have chest armor, knee armor and wrist armor. With SSCs current attachment methods, there's plenty they could get wrong or it come out feeling cheaply made.

For instance, how will they attach his shoulder armor? Probably like they attach the stormtrooper shoulder armor...with those too tight azz elastic straps. Or worse, what if they attach it to his neck armor causing it to flare out stupidly like they did Clone Wars Anakin? :huh

That's all I'm saying. So far, they really haven't hit a good consistantant stride as far as armor attachment that I find works really well. I don't think they do a horrible job, I just think they have some room to improve but they seem to reluctant to quickly correct certain methods that clearly don't work very well. But they have gotten better.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, they're taking their time with theres and I have no doubts they'll deliver when his time comes. I'm sure they'll get everything to look as seamless as can be judging by Rex/Bly's kama's. The only thing I see is that theres won't "blow Medi's out the water" like some people thought before this one came out.

All they really have to do is not mess up any of all the stuff Medi did right, get the correct hoses on, bulk up the body so it's in exact same height as their Clones/Stormtroopers, and adjust the colors on the helmet. Making the girl belt out of cloth would be a bonus too, but like someone said, they have their work cut out for them and we can all enjoy this amazing version in the meantime

I'm sure they will do a good job. Like I said, they will both have pros & cons.

I'm not trying to make a Medi vs SSC argument. To be honest I have all of SSCs Star Wars figures & environments...I've actually skipped quite a few of Medi's offerings.

I ordered mine today so I should have it in about a month!

He will have travelled nearly 8,500 miles before I get my hands on him but I cant wait. These pics make him look so cool.

definitely. I wasn't trying to turn it into an argument, this thread's actually been pretty positive since it's been "cleaned up", so hopefully more Medi naysayers keep an open mind and pick one of these up before the prices go up.

And congrats J14, you will not be disappointed and don't forget to post pics once you get him:wink1:
