New score! Bowen Thanos FS

This bad-ass statue just showed up today. I actually had one on pre-order from a ebay seller years ago, and that deal fell through (I came really close to getting burned.. never pre-ordering on ebay again!). Been trying to track down Thanos ever since.

He does have a few tiny microscopic chips, but luckily they're not visible when he's on display. And there's no paint rubs on him (rubs are common on FS Thanos), so I guess I'm gonna keep him. Maybe I can mix up some gold paint and try to fill in the tiny chips..

My Bowen collection is slowly growing.. 1st Punisher, 2nd Deadpool, 3rd Thanos, and now Modern Spidey is on the way. I really need to get classic Hulk, and the new FS Thor. Those are definitely next on my hit list!

Thanks fellas! I'm really really digging this guy. I think many more Bowen full sizers are going to make their way into my collection.

wow Finally a Bowen statue that I feel is on par to one of SideShow's! That is one gorgeous piece! I actually want to have him in my collection!

What are his dimensions, weight, and cost? hehe

Thanos here is about 15.5" tall, and I'm guestimating about 9" wide. Can't say for sure on the weight, but he is much thicker and heavier than your normal 1/6 scale statue.

He had a run of 2500, but was heavily allocated due to a factory mishap. Apparently a large number of them were packaged before the paint finished drying, and resulted in lots of nasty paint rubs. No one knows how many undamaged copies are out there.

He currently goes for around $250 - $300 (got mine for $258 on ebay). Hope that helps. It really is a beautiful piece in person, the blue and gold really pops! Plus, it's fricking Thanos the Mad Titan.. he wanted to kill the universe to impress Death for Christs sake! The coolest Marvel villain IMO

As for the statue, I think it's THE best Bowen piece ever!!! I had this but returned it due to the bad paint ops. I've been trying to get another one for a while but it's very hard to find one that's mint.

Yeah, ditto. I wish I had never seen Bowen stuff before, cause now there's a whole bunch of "new" statues I'm hunting for. Be sure to check out the faux-bronze hulk, that's what hooked me on Bowen.

I think, Thanos, along with Apokalypse, Odin and Silver Surfer are my favorite Bowen pieces. Congrats on the purchase.

Thanks man! I'm really digging that Odin too... he'll probably make his way into my collection when he's released. I also like that Surfer, but would much rather have the first release (chrome or painted). If only it wasn't so damn expensive!

Really a beautiful piece. I would like to see more of the bad guy rather than the same 3-4 characters that every company seems to over produce.
