Newbie Question about movie figures...

Hi guys,

i am sincerely apologetic for my newbie question but in all fairness i am a 1:1 bust collector ( in my defence )

I keep seeing peoples figures on their shelves with the film they were in or the character name on a black base that they are standing on...who makes these particular movie figures?
