Keeping in mind that this is a prediction thread and I'm not discussing what I'd like to see? Best guess:

Two years ago, we saw a lot of Jabba's palace stuff.
1. Throne.
2. Jabba.
3. Creature packs.
4. Bib Fortuna
5. And Leia as Boussh started it all.

Last year, we saw announcements for the Episode IV opening scene:

1. Vader
2. Stormtroopers
3. Rebel Fleet Trooper
4. Captain Antilles
5. And Commander Praji started it all...

This year (in addition to armored figs), it feels like they're gearing up for a Bespin year. Think about it:

1. Han in Carbonite
2. Lando
3. Stormtroopers (re-usable)
4. And Bespin Luke and Han started it all.

So I'm looking for any of the following:

1. Bespin Leia
2. Lobot
3. Boba Fett mos' def' by SDCC
4. Bespin Guard

With the exception of Fett, any of these would be easy and cheap to create. Not much involved with any of the rest, so production costs could be kept to a minimum.

If they go with the ESB theme then I think we will see either Lobot, Leia in either Bespin or Hoth Gear or maybe a Bespin Guard.

If it is prequels again then something armoured like a 501st or Shocktrooper.

The Snow Trooper makes the most business sense.

1. It is in high demand having never been done by anyone in high-end 1:6 scale.

2. The chest armour +plus an officer's uniform (already made for Piett) makes for a General Veers release with more limited development costs for Sideshow.

3. The chest armour is also part of Dengar if I recall correctly.

I hope someone at Sideshow thinks along these lines.

Since we just saw Lando, I don't think we're in for another major character announcement for a while. I'd say the next likely announcement is a trooper. Hopefully a Snow or Scout trooper.

Boba would be great if they keep with the ESB theme... my guess is they will release something for SDCC able to take on Vader and Stormies. Fett wouldn't do it on his own, but him and Jango might do it.

And Emporer and throne would definitely be a show stopper.

But for the next figure... still liking the idea of a Scum and Villiany like Greedo, or maybe Dooku.

Will Sideshow ever get to 12-inch versions of such “iconic” classic trilogy characters as Luke in his X-Wing outfit, Greedo, Tusken Raider, or even, should the company feel much more adventurous (i.e. beyond new head, hands or armor that is), definitive 12-inch scale version of characters such as C3PO, “enslaved” Leia or even Chewbacca? Vader and Stormtrooper were a huge relief to see after lots of prequel Jedi and fairly-cool-but-obscure militaries guys; does this signal that Sideshow will be doing more iconic classic trilogy characters soon?

Without getting too specific, several of the characters you mention are on tap for the 12-inch line. We are intent on releasing the core characters, interspersed with the more interesting and fan-favorite ancillary characters. We hope to keep the line ‘fresh’ for many years to come - not simply blast out all of the main characters in one shot!

This was taken from sideshow answers today!:emperor

Don't think we will be seeing the Fetts any time soon but possibly Greedo or the Tuskin Raiders.

Sideshow Q&A said:
Our Star Wars 12-inch line is going strong, and the armored characters will continue. Boba Fett is not in the immediate line-up, but is definitely a character that we’re working on. Similar with the Rebels (pilots) from “A New Hope”, outside of the Fleet Trooper and Antilles - they’re on our radar, but not in the immediate list.

Guess right. :(

As long as we're not waiting for them to do another "PF helmet". Or even the Jango helmet.

Man, the wait for all the possible figures I would like to see is very difficult. It makes me wish Sideshow was a larger company and could pump them out in waves like Hasbro. And here I actually thought back in 2005 that we surely would have the droids and Yoda by 2009.

Pumping them out that quickly would be hard on alot of collectors. Especially in this economy.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Sure, pump out 8 $80+ figures at once. That won't last long.

give me a Wampa....they can practice with it before they make the furry chewbacca.

A wampa would be awesome. Tarkin is still my first pick though.

Edit: Although that may tempt me to get a Vader to go with him...

Edit again: And maybe a couple stormies...

Lat edit I promise: Maybe it'd be better if I don't get Tarkin. :lol

Wonder why pilots and Fett are just on their "radar"? You'd think they would have been on SS's "radar" since Nov 2005 when this started.

Are they really afraid if they give us all the good ones we'll all leave? Come on... cough 'em up already.

The fact that Boba Fett is not in the immediate future is quite disappointing. Previously, they said that they were at least working on troopers. With the lead time on these figures, I take their statement to mean, Boba isn't coming out for at least a year. THAT SUCKS!!!
