No more waitlists?

Got this email today:

"Dear Collector,

We wanted to take this opportunity to e-mail you about your wait list reservation for a LOTR Medallion.

We have not had any items return back into stock from card declines or returns nor have we found any loose items within our warehouse. Therefore, we will be closing this wait list and canceling all collector reservations that have been submitted for this item. You will notice that your reservation, which begins with a W within your order history area of your online account, will be canceled within the next few days. You will also receive an e-mail confirming the cancellation.

We apologize that we could not fulfill your wait list request and hope that you find a similar item for your collection. We encourage everyone to become a member of our e-newsletter so that you can be the first to receive information about products such as the LOTR Medallions. If you are not a member you can register through the link below:"

First I just saw some e-mails fron sideshow orderdesk concerning waitlists.. boy was I glad!!! until I read them!

I mean.. I have some reservations for much older statues, and they haven't cancelled those! Are they going to?

This was they first time this happened to me, and I been to waitslists for many many years! Is this nothing to get all fuzzy about? Am I panicin needlessly?

I personally woulnd't think much about it. Sounds like SS is just trying not to keep people hanging on with a false hope that they will get these items. Once an item is long sold out it is inevitable that none are going to come back in stock. This just cleans up the loose ends of having open waitlist orders cluttering up the system and accounts.

Probably signals the fact that the EU warehouse must have finished their cleanout as it seemed that most of the older LOTR items having waitlists fullfilled have been from the EU warehouse. Guess that gold vein has finally dried up

My reservation for The Duel of Fire and Light has been cancelled as well..................this is a good thing in a way.............sucks that I cannot get it for that cheap, good to have closure so that I can find it elsewhere...........hopefully we find out about the rest of the waitlists pretty soon as well................

I signed up for a bunch of the medallions, and just received notice yesterday. Kinda nice to know that this route is a dead end, so I can look elsewhere, but it would be nice to get them on the cheap!

That's the right attitude to have with the waitlists! I thought I would waitlist the escape off the road plaque just for laughs, and got the conversion a day later, but for a con exclusive that I waitlisted, I got it in the mail about eight months later with no notification!

I received notification that my waitlist order for the Gondorian Helm Collection is officially kaput...

So another one bites the dust...

I have always thought that I am the only one, I started the collection only in late 2002, where nearly all the expensive FOTR items had been released and sold out...and I am even talking about the coins, stamps, posters, movie guides etc... especially the NZ FOTR Presentation Pack... I was totally shocked when I see that the street price is 399USD!! Unbelievable!!

When I discovered SSF I always thought most of you guys have gotten what you wanted to get.... so it means that there are even people who are even EARLIER than any of us??

Just got the same email concerning Gandalf the white bust and statue, easterling soldier and Aragorn bust!

I have been hoping to get them for so long!

Now I have to pay a smaller fortune on evilbay to get them

I hope I at least get one of the several items I have left on waitlists!!!!

I didn't get any news about "finished" wait lists yet. Not personally, that is. Either SSC is ignoring my requests, or ... I don't know. Did any other EU board brother get a notice or something?

I'm in the US, and I just got an e-mail that my Nazi Kroenen and Helm of Theoden wait lists requests will be closed.

Got wait list cancellations for some busts and Orc Brute today.
So no hope for european collectors also.

I received cancellations for the following Busts over the weekend:

1. Bilbo
2. Gandalf the Grey
3. Moria Orc Swordsman

I've still got a ton of stuff still pending on other wait-lists but it's not boding well...
