well I am thinking that it is the fan that cools the compressor that is bad on our refrigerator. The compressor must have got to hot because something discolored the linoleum floor turned it a Burgundy color where the refrigerator sits.

You need to vacuum the condenser coils of the fridge periodically to prevent overheating and excess energy consumption.

If I were you I wouldn't let my refrigerator go out, especially when it's raining.

Sorry to hear about this. I haven't used a dishwasher in over 30 years. Haven't seen one yet that really gets dishes clean. Plus, they use a lot of water. I always rinsed the dishes immediately after using to make it easy to clean, and a lot of the time, just wash it right then. Hand washing works best.

Clothes washer is totally different. That's an extremely useful thing.
I too need a new clothes washer. Mine is broken. My old freezer is broken too.

I've got 2 leaky faucets, and need new carpet in 4 rooms.
My cars run ok.
I prefer bike riding when I can. Auto maintenance is a pain, plus gas is way too expensive

it was the fan. don't know how long the refrigerator will keep working though. it put a hell of a lot of stress on the refrigerator compressor I would bet.
