So, this may be a stupid question... but anyway, here goes. What's the best way to open up the mailer tubes you use for posters? I just bought my first one - I saw that the edition size was printed on the tube, so I figured I might want to keep it.

I'm sure I could just tear this apart but I'd like to keep the tube intact in case I need it for storage later, plus having the edition on it makes me kind of want to keep it as nice as possible... thanks!

I cut mine open with a katana.

Aren't you worried you might cut the poster inside? :)

Anyway, I thought maybe you could just take the top off somehow, but it's stuck on there pretty tight...

If you're referring to Mondo prints distributed through Sideshow, I believe there is a 'pre-cut' line that runs around the top/bottom 1/3 of the tube. Twist and it should open right up.

I know that the end caps on those particular tubes are not meant to be removed. You should open the tube from the center.

Hope this helps.

That explains why I had to get the pliers to get that darned thing off. :slap
