I was notified this morning that the anesthetist was sick and that they were
looking for a replacement. By ten they called and cancelled. To be rescheduled.
So I had to call my boss, tell her what was up. I am going to work tomorrow.
I have no idea when it will be. My husband took time off work to be with me and now when I do have it I will have to ask my sister.
I had gotten myself all psyched up for the surgery and now it is a waiting game
again.:monkey2

That really sucks. Doctors should not be allowed to get sick and screw up the patients life even more. Don't they have more than one doc that can give you a little sleepy sleep. Sorry to hear that. My mom would say positive thinking so the only positive thing I can think of is that you can read your newsletter tonight :)

Thanks Nessa. I am looking forward to the newsletter.
They are messing with my reward points as they do the audit.
I better get them all back or I will be very bummed.

that sux.
Now when it could be all over you still have it to NOT look forward to.

Ive heard before that the anesthetist is usually subcontracted out by the doc and not a direct part of the doctor's practice. I think for insurance purposes. Thats why it can be a problemfor the doctor t find a last minute replacement.

What a pain in the neck! On the bright side, you'll be able to see the newsletter tonight.

arg. i hate when the docs reschedule! my Ma was supposed to have surgery outta state awhile back, and wouldn't ya know, we had the worst winter ice/snow storm in years on that day. BUT it wasn't gonna stop me! er...yeah it did. after hours of trying to make it just a few miles, running off the road, ect. we gave up. went home and called the hospital only to find that Ma was already discharged WITHOUT the surgery.

Sorry to hear that Red, but hopefully they get everything worked out and you get taken care of very soon. Until then, take care of yourself.

Working in a doctor's office right now, and trust me, if these guys get sick, you WANT them to cancel! It really is in your best interest, even if it throws everything for a loop. We'll all be pulling for you though when they decide to try again. It does stink getting all psyched up for something, only to have someone pull the rug out, but it sounds like you've got a ton of support here and at home!

Sorry for the frustration, Red!

I took my son to get his set of five pre-kindergarten immunization shots today, but he had a cold and so they rescheduled. If we can't get them done by Tuesday we won't be able to register him.

It can be pretty frustrating when your plans get messed up. I hope that the doctor gets better and your procedure is back on track ASAP.

It is amazing what doctors think. They called me friday at 4 and said my surgery was now scheduled for Monday. I said sorry I have committed to working next week not knowing when you would be able to reschedule. I explained that I had to give my boss 1 weeks notice at least. The doctors office was not pleased.
I explained that I had real life respondsiblities and could not just drop everything to fit their schedule.

Doctors ....pfffttt.............

That's the annoying side of working for doctors too. . . They can be loathe to cancel, but then expect clients to reschedule without a moments notice. Very often, some of the doctors I work for get frustrated when they have an opening in their schedule, so they expect people to drop everything to come in, and get honked off when no one can take the opening. Good luck Red!

Re: Operation cancelled.... April5 done

I had my surgery this morning and am home and resting (checking out the forum counts as resting). Doctor is confident that everything is okay.
I will keep you updated if things change or if everything proceeds as planned.

thanks for all of the support
