The situation is pretty simple:

A fellow collector has an item on order that they are thinking about canceling. This is an item that I am currently wait-listed on. Is it possible for customer service to transfer their order to my account?

Any thoughts?

Send the fellow collector the $$$ through PayPal and have him ship it to you when it arrives. Done.

Yes, the problem is that I am in Canada and the other collector is in Europe. Not only would I have to cover my duties and shipping, but his as well :(

At that point, it would be cheaper to just buy from Ebay.

I would think that a simple account transfer would be the easiest thing. As long as we both give consent to sideshow to transfer the order, I don't see why they could not do this for us...:huh

I think it'd create a headache. Make an exception for one then next thing you know your CS is tied up transferring orders, instead of dealing with legit CS issues, because every Tom, Richard and Harry who's not at their comp during PO time is having their friends ordering it on their own accounts.

Yes, I agree. This is not the best way to do things. The only reason I would go through all this is because it is for an EXC. that would be killer in the aftermarket.

I don't think that Sideshow will do this, but you can try. They wouldn't do it because it wouldn't be fair for the people who are above you on the waiting list.

I hope they will allow us to do this...I figured sideshow would understand that we have a collector community here and we should be able to help each other out like this if we want to...

when i had a place in the states to ship my orders to ssc had a form that i had to submit, for them to send my order to a different address.
this may apply to your situation.

i would call them and ask them, though it may have to be shipped in your name to the europe address which may not work either.

Imagine the potential scenario that could develope if they allowed this...

A "flipper" places an order for a limited item. They solicite buyers before the product ships, they sell their "rights" to the item and calls SSC to transfer to a new customer and now the flipper doesn't have to claim any responsibility for delivery of the item, the condition of the item, and don't even have to worry about any of the finances. They simply collect a transfer fee! The flipper essentially has pure profit from simply sitting at the computer and place orders, forcing SSC to do all the work of collecting payment, changing addresses, etc.

EVERYONE will suddenly become flippers and SSC would not be able to gauge true interest in a product. :slap

:lecture:lecture:lecture I was looking at it from a purely collector's standpoint but this is true (with the exception of the teemu-ish last sentence :lol). Although, you'd likely get your account suspended for doing it several times.

Yes,

I can see the concern. I am really only thinking they could make a one time exception.

The order transform does exist, perhaps I will try that.

I don't think they'd allow it because in reality you are bypassed everyone in front of you on the wait list.
