So far, PF refers to human characters with real clothing, whereas creatures and robots tend to be referred to as maquettes. But they are the same scale.

So, to answer the question, Sideshow did make a Premium Format Scale (1/4 scale) Predator, yes.

That's a good try but the Robocop 1/4 is a robot with no clothing and is considered a Premium Format. To be honest there is no real method to their madness except that Maquettes tend to be more expensive. Also, just a guess, but a Maquette seems to refer to a copy of an artists model, as if it comes from the "original" mold of something, while Premium Formats were sculpted by an artist. This definition seemed to make sense up to the Alien Warrior Maquette, at that point the definition became all loopy again.

yeah, what you say makes sense except for the Alien Warrior. If they ever do make a larger Predator or any other ones, they will most likely always be a maquette cause they would prolly take a digital scan of the actual thing.

Yea, I gave up on trying to decipher the difference. Although, I always thought digital scans of actual models were very cool.

Man.. I really need to get one of those Pred maquettes... Someday, someday..

I'm thinking that we will get another 1/4 scale Predator from SSC, but it probably wouldn't be from the 1st movie. Maybe a pred2 or Scar I bet.

I would not mind a predator 2 maquette. I think the colors would be awesome. But not at 1000 bucks like the first figure.
