This will be very, very tempting. I told myself I wouldn't get any human 1:1 busts so this will really have to WOW me.

Have'nt all the SW 1/1 bust's been an ES of a 1000?

My mistake, Maul and Yoda were 1000. I highly doubt Palpatine will be 300 like Greedo and Boskk, I think they were so low because of how niche a fan base they'd have, but between how evil it ought to look and popularity of Palpatine, I'd guess this bust will be Maul popular.

I could be wrong, but Palps hood looks like it's made of polystone

I don't think so to me It looks like cloth.
Anyway This is the Bust #1 on my wishlist. THANKS Sideshow... the only problem could be shipping and taxes to Italy but with the currency change to euro It will costs basically the same. So No prob. :emperor

My God, can you imagine how heavy this would be if it were solid polystone, including the voluminous hood?!

After the sculpt, the eyes will b e the deal breaker for me. I hate the digitized decal-looking eyes on the otherwise beautiful Maul bust. To be super-realistic, I wish they'd use glass eyes or even just glass-inserts for the pupils...

That would be great!:emperor

Maybe they'll attach his hood to the rest of the head, to get round the problem of what lies beneath...

Ugh, you mean like the hasbro 12"? Nay, say I. I think the way to go is simply to sculpt the hair, like the ROTS version (maybe a bit thinner and balder).

It means it could be a grail if they go with a low ES.

I think 500-600 would be a good ES. Yoda is still readily available and they seem to be having a hard time selling him even though he's fantastic. I think a human sculpt (even one as cool and unique as this) will have a harder time selling. If it's an ES of 1000, I'll wait a few months and get him for about $200 cheaper like Yoda is going for now.

I always thougt of him as being bald when I was younger. Not really sure why. I'm hoping this 100% spot on, like a Master Replica of McDiarmid's maked-up face! It's gonna be the cornerstone of my collection. Seeing as how Palpatine played the whole Star Wars unviverse like a fiddle from start to finish, I see no better character to emmulate.

That would be tragic. His facial disfigurations need to match the ROTJ makeup (ROTS did differ a bit with better technique) and the parts you never saw in ROTJ should be based off ROTS. It would be a major downgrade to a high end piece if they worked around showing from his ears back on his head with tricks of the hood and such, and I'm sure they didn't go that route.
