Hey everyone i had a question that i cannot seem to get a clear answer on. If my paypal balance has no money in it will it still make payments asap to a person or company like threea as long as my bank account is linked? I have accumulated a good bit of cash in there and i would like to transfer it to my bank account i just dont want to limit what i can buy and how long it takes for someone to get paid. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

sweet deal. so as long as you have your paypal linked to your bank account there is no point in having money in there?

There's a benefit to Paypal if you leave the money in your account: Paypal earns interest off your money.

ALWAYS transfer money from your Paypal account to your bank account as soon as it shows up in your Paypal account.

If you only have your bank account linked to paypal then payments
are sent as an E-cheque which take 3-5 days to clear. This includes
transfering money from paypal to your bank account.
To make instant payments you need to have a credit or visa card linked to your paypal account. That way when making a purchase, if
you have insuficient funds in your account paypal will automatically
take the remainding funds from your linked visa/credit card.

This makes sense. I use my ATM card.

Hmmm..That's never happened to me and I only have my bank account linked to my account. No CC or ATM linked.

All transactions have been instant transfers. :dunno

That Is Good To Know, I just Barely Linked My Account, So Now All My Payments Will Now Be Instant!

Hmmmm, that is interesting. Could be two different sets of rules.
I'm 100% positive that Paypal Australia require you to have a visa/credit card linked to your account to make instant payments.
I guess it's just a safe guard for paypal.

I just re-checked the way I have paypal set up. My primary payment method is direct from my checking account. I have a back-up that is my ATM card from the same account. So I guess my input is moot.

Could be.
Maybe Paypal Australia is different than it is here in the US. :dunno

Thanks everyone for all the input. I have my debit card linked to my paypal and my bank account associated with the debit card. So i should be able to make the instant payments since i have the debit card linked? Correct?

That's what works for me, so you should be fine.
If you want to confirm it just transfer a couple of bucks to your paypal
account to see what happens.

Yup. Do what Nacho suggested to confirm. :D
