First it was my own picks...then it was the Poppies...and tonight, it's time for the results of the People's Picks! The readers voted, and the results are tallied. I've added in some commentary of course, and you might find a few surprises in there.

It's at the usual:

Thanks for reading - and for voting!

:lol BB picks up a 3rd place for 'best overall line' on the back of a variant loaded with QC issues.

Just goes to show that the vast majority of people don't consider a crooked kneepad a QC issue, or even notice that it's crooked at all.

It's also notable to me that the People voted Iron Man best bust and Rango with best Vinyl. . . two things that HT barely does at all, and they still smoke the competition. Further proof that HT could put a piece of dog-poo in a box and slap their logo on it, and people would buy it by the truckload.

Nice to see them write it up like that - although a link to the Poppies rather than the People's Picks would have been nice. Then again, they won one more award in the PP's, so I suppose it makes marketing sense :D

They did that back in 2001, it's called their Mopp set and most weren't foolish enough to buy it for $45 at the time, unlike me. :(

Some companies are notably missing - McFarlane and Medicom are probably most noticable for me, but the lack of Dr. Who has been noted by many. Remember, it's the 140 judges that did the nominating, and if they didn't see anything all year from a company that knocked their socks off, it got passed over. If you want to be sure something you loved is on the ballot next year, make some noise with the judges, especially those in the media section.

I'm ready to make a lot of noise Michael. :lol

Do! The judges are the ones nominating, some from this very board, so make it clear to them next year that you expect some Dr. Who on there. Usually at least I remember, but sadly I didn't think of it either this year.
