Anyone else catch this? From the previews it looked like Saw II without the traps and gore. Thought it was a decent episode, it got me hooked.

Just grabbing it now looks good and the show will get an ending they said so no fear of watching it and it getting cancelled. :lol

Well that was great! i can't wait until next week i'm hooked! :rock

I don't know that anyone needs to be in on it since they have 'workers' around them anyway, but I suspect one is. Slightly spoilery discussion next...

The first episode was good, with plenty of potential to come. I see some Old Boy similarities too, especially since the camera was at the Mom's house as well. Are these people who have someone that thinks they need to be taught some sort of lesson? Both the woman and Alan Ruck have someone with money (mom, wife) that would have a reason to teach them something.

One thing I thought was really odd - they gave them a check at the end of the meal, and no one picked it up or commented on it? What did it say?

I like the concept of the workers that don't know anything either. Again, very Old Boy in concept, but instead of merely punishing them, it seems like they are supposed to learn something.

BTW, I think the chick will try to kill the Jason Bourne dude next week, but it'll be blanks.

When i said "one has to be in on it" i meant one normally is and if so it's probably her.

It might be, but I'm betting on the Marine. He has two things going for him as a mole - he's going to be automatically trusted in the uniform, and he's also able to influence situations.

Yeah could be him and hopefully it will keep us guessing from week to week it's more fun that way.

I have it recorded and was going to watch it this weekend, but since it's getting some good press here, I might check it out tonight

More spoilery (slightly) stuff:

I thought the key in the bible was interesting...rather than just leaving the door unlocked, they had to figure it out. Same with the elevator, since there was no reason they COULDN'T go down stairs, they just had to be smart enough to do it. The thing about that is that it implies there is a way out if they can think it through. Also, what was the 'counselor' chick hiding in her pocket? Looked like a medical id to me...so she's a patient, not a doctor, I'm assuming.

BTW, I have a question that someone raised to me today that is a good one - how did the car salesman get downstairs? Hmmm...

Wow, I thought this show was really boring. I'll give it a couple of episodes, but it doesn't have the same vibe that the first episode of Lost did.

And the fortune cookie thing? Only one of them showed their's? I would think they'd all insist on seeing everyone else's. And they probably all say the same thing.

I think the female with the Id braclet is a mental health patient-she quickly thought to look for the implant-as someone who might have some gov trust issues. If there is a mole-maybe the party girl.

Ha, knew the butterfly would get zapped.

Another good episiode.

The reporter storyline is lame though.

Yeah i agree with you and it was another great episode! just a shame we have another week before the next one. :(

I'm also enjoying this new series. It's got a cool Twin Peaks / The Prisoner / Silent Hill vibe going about it, and that's right up my alley.

One thing I didn't get was the whole "there's only one shotgun in the police station" angle from episode one. During one of the initial scenes when they first exit the hotel, we can clearly see an actual gun store just down the street. Why didn't they go there for firearms, instead of the cop shop?

Also, if it were me, I'd start looking for hidden panels and passages, particularly in the lower levels. Someone's able to move around and leave stuff in their hotel rooms and whatnot, so they have to be getting in from somewhere...
