Originally conceived to be a counterpart to Burroughs' Tarzan, Sheena leapt off the pages of Fiction House comics in 1937 to become the very first female character to have her own title, four years before Wonder Woman. Since then, Sheena has been featured in comics, graphic novels, TV shows, and her own feature film. Although there have been many imitators, there will only ever be one jungle queen.

This is an interesting figure. Phicen used a pretty good headsculpt with it, thankfully. My only issue is the Phicen body makes her look too skinny and unathletic to really seem like Sheena.

I wonder, are there any "toned"--i.e., a bit muscular, but still feminine--1/6 female bodies out there? Or do they all look pretty much like this, with the skinny arms and legs?

Unfortunately most if not all of them look like this; i'd prefer more realistically proportioned female bodies myself; but seeing how male bodies can still look a little screwy as well, i wouldn't hold my breath.

I think phicen is doing a more athletic/toned body for their upcoming lady death figure. Maybe.

Not bad, it looks like they dropped any mention of Irish McCalla. That is in their favor as no resemblance whatsoever to that actress.

That's one of the reasons for the bracelets. To help hide the wrist joints. My biggest problem with these are those crappy feet. There's absolutely no support in there, so she can't stand on her own.

I don't buy many figures these days. The only figure I'll have purchased so far this year is the Rocketman which I'm waiting for. I also have Gary Lockwood and Keir Dulea on order but very much doubt those will be coming in 2015. This one is also of real interest to me. I was unimpressed honestly with what they were showing as Irish McCalla's Sheena, but this is very nice. Very good generic pretty female sculpt and good looking costume for the "Queen of the Jungle". As to her being too slim, maybe, but historically speaking Sheena was never drawn as a body builder. And this body would have suited Irish McCalla just fine. Well, a larger bust possibly as she was tall and slim with rather large breasts. Anyway, I think this is a pretty nice looking package they've put together. Executive Replicas and Go-Hero are showing some nifty stuff.
Now they need to fix Betty Page.

Same. And even if the final version turns out nice, that will likely be the one key thing that really holds me back from considering buying this piece myself, even though I actually am a bit of a Sheena fan.

I hope Phicen makes a more American superheroine toned buxom body similar to how Frank Cho draws women. Maybe slightly larger scale so the heads won't look oversized. And Go Hero stated on the Sheena board they will return to Irish McCalla one day.

If you look in the description of the last two headless bodies they are putting out, they do plan on making an "athletic build" body at some point. What that means as far as muscle mass and definition is hard to say at this point, but I'd like to see something cool, too. If not a Frank Cho build, at least one that looks like Sandahl Bergman's build in Conan.
