I wish there was a way to follow video game news other than blogs. Bloggers seem to need to get their opinion in on every piece. For instance on IGN's liveblog, one of the last things mentioned in the "newsfeed" is this:

TIme to wave our hands around like idiots.

So you don't like motion control. That's completely irrelevant to your job in reporting the news. Do your job or GTFO.

This notion of the so-called "hardcore" gamer pissing all over every innovation that doesn't include "ZOMGS!11!! Teh AWESOMEZ GRAFFIXXXXXX!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL" was old years ago. Now it's just sad, especially coming from "professionals."

Sorry for the rant. Back to your regularly scheduled thread.... :peace

I'm still waiting for the day that review ratings or graphics are completely relevant again.

I will say this isn't all that great simply because it doesn't do anything different from the Wii--they're simply providing an alternative control system, not a new experience.

Looks like a step up from the Wii remote, but I don't feel that it's going to take off like the former.

Part of me predicts it'll flop just like Sony's previous versions of the Eye Toy.

I wonder how far you have to be from the PS3 Eye to properly play a game. I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet...

Playstation Move commercial. Pretty funny.

^^^Lame. I didn't know Sony was gonna resort to mudslinging now. Either way, Nintendo's doing all the laughing while they're killing the sales and Sony's still losing $$ on their systems.

Honestly, considering how much money Sony's lost on the PS3 and that they're still losing money on every PS3 sold I don't think they're going to make anything from this generation.

I don't either. Luckily, when the PS4 comes out they'll have Blu Ray already and their competition (MS *cough *cough) will probably have to purchase some rights for Blu Ray as well. We'll see, I think it'll be late 2012 before we see any new machine from any of the big 3.

They didn't mention that you'd have to buy like, 3 separate pieces of equipment just to get Move to work with your PS3.

Three? More like two, the Move and the Eye. Unless you're counting the Move as two pieces; I'm pretty sure both controllers will come as one product, unlike the nunchuck and wiimote on the Wii.

You're forgetting the sub-controller, which is the nunchuk-like one with the analog stick. That isn't included with a Move controller nor the eye-and-move controller bundle. Some games will work only with that extra sub-controller.

Technically, you're right in saying that you only need the eye and one move controller in order to start playing out of the gate, but really, some time down the line that extra controller will be a necessity.

Also, from what I've read, perhaps even a second move controller might be necessary per player for a full experience.

I'm basing this mostly on this article on Gizmodo:

Yeah, I was under the impression that the sub 'nunchuck' controller will be included with the main controller, unlike the Wii nunchuck.
I personally don't have the Eye, so I would get the bundle that they announced which includes the Eye, and both Move controllers.

OMG it's the Playstation Wii-mote :lol :horror! I'm sorry but this is just a bad idea. Sony should stick to it's own market, and leave semi-retarded flailing of the arms to the Wii.

I haven't decided on whether or not i'll be getting this. I haven't even thought about it. I just don't want to invest the money if it turns out to be poorly supported. Even just getting the bundle with an extra set of move controllers is a pricey investment.

I'm sure Im not the only one in this position. I'm not the audience Sony is intending this for, but that brings up the question: What target audience was this made for? Frankly, I don't think that audience exists.

The target audience exists, but they're already on the Wii. Which leads me to wonder, if Sony will even be capable of tapping into the Wii's already successful fan-base. Quite frankly, I don't think a lot of the current PS3 gamers are going to be sold on the "Move", since most of us bought our PS3s for the games, not motion sensing.

Technically most PS3 owners bought them for the Blu-ray player.
