I got this outfit at a steal price.

It's for indiana jones and it said it was for raiders of lost ark.

did not say who is the company this came from and i payed $25.

it came with a really good quality zip up leather brown jacket it's lined in a chocolate brown fabric.
pockets are real i tested them.

Pants are tan and pockets are functional and lined. came with a gross grain kacki belt with brass slip buckle

cream/beige shirt with buttons 3 snaps and two more for sleeves.

leather lace up boots but i need to change the laces which im going to do with brown wax thread which is more studier.

the leather whip is missing cracker shich i can easily replace with white wax thread.

it also came with a gold idol statue and brown canvas bag with leather strap

leather belt with metal revolver and holster. and holster looks like leather.

it makes me think it might be hot toys but i know you guys probably know more. I asked the whip guy but if he is buisy this way i can get a quick answer

nevermind mike told me it's the relic hunter outfit, Im glad i dint get the hat it loos terrible. but the rest of costume is terrific quality. I canlive with the zipper lol and i can make a better suede hat.

What head/body are you using? Indy's hat was felt not suede. Depending on the head, try to find a plastic hat. It'll look much better.

Actually it was beaver fur hat suede would be closer since beaver fur is thick

I'm going to use Indy head with hat from WGP since i love the sculpt it's the closest i have seen of Indy.
I think i might add flecking to give it texture not sure yet.

Yup, sounds like the Relic Hunter outfit to me too. Pretty good stuff too, other than the hat (like you mentioned). I have a set on my custom Indy and really dig it. The jacket is a little bulky compared to HT or SS, but still very cool. I was really surprised at the quality of the gear he came with (which makes the atrocious hat that much more perplexing). The figure it came on had a passing resemblance to Ford (but looked a little more like Dennis Quaid to me) but the body was kind of wiggity wack. In addition to what you listed, he also came with socks and a real metal sword that's almost a dead ringer for the one from TOD. The sword also had a leather scabbard. The metal revolver is just too cool, but a tad oversized I think.

Anyway, congrats on your score! Can't wait to see your final figure. My custom Indy still has the old Lonnie Hale Indy head and I've actually been thinking of getting the WGP sculpt to replace it. Which head are you going with, the traditional or smiling sculpt?

Thanks Blly Ray;

I plan on getting another machete and making a pleather sheath for it since mine didn't come with.
i agree the jacket is bulky but id swear it was real leather it makes the others look like plastic you would think hot toys would have made that level of craftsmanship for the jacket even the lining on mine looks better.

the clothes on him is top notch, rick set aside a head for me so once i work off the trade he will be shipped to pete for a paintup.

I may have mike make another whip for Indy and keep this one as backup. I'm going to take the laces off shoes their fraying due to age I'm thinking wax thread will stand the test of time.

I told Mike that im planing on making indy clothes over the summer and offering them on here since some of the other tailors/seamstresses are getting out of it. he said if i make a reasonable price id have people interested so we will see. the zippers won't be small like hot toys because i dont have access to those tiny zippers outside of what we can get in america.

At 1st I'm only going to offer his jacket since the other items are easily accessible and maybe temple of doom torn shirt. Right now I'm looking for amber tears for stones(activated) and ill be making plain stones with carvings. Temple of doom was my fav indy movie.

apparently you haven't seen the top hats made along time ago the fur is trimmed short it's called fur felt but trust me when you see that it is beaver. it looks like felt but it's not wool felt.

From Wikipedia:

"To make felt, the underhairs were shaved from the beaver pelt and mixed with a vibrating hatter's bow. The matted fabric was pummeled and boiled repeatedly, resulting in a shrunken and thickened felt."

We're splitting hairs (pun intended) my friend. I own a beaver felt Indy fedora from Adventurebilt and am a 12 year member of Club Obi Wan. I've owned every high-grade Indy hat worth owning from Optimo to Peter Bros. Trust me. I know my Indy hats.

I tried to offer you some friendly advice but it seems as though you've got it all figured out.

Enjoy your weekend. I look forward to seeing your figure when it's done.

:exactly: I've owned a few myself including one from Steve Delk. Never ever use a Dorfman Pacific hat as a referance for anything. It's about as accurate as **** Tracy's and pretty much an instant sign you don't know what your talking about, all due respect.

Im sorry you felt offended but there are like 3 different felts in use, One being wool, Fur felt (beaver), the cheep craft felt that isn't worth the time to sew from.

And I will show pics of Indiana jones when he is finished

No offence taken though I can't speak for bmarz, I would just say that this would be a better referance for you :

https://www.adventurebilthats.com/indy.asp

as well as heading over to Club Obi Wan if you want to get all the little details right that make it look like Indy's hat and not just a brown fedora. Dorfman just slap the Indy logo on random machine made brown hats.

You left out rabbit & nutria fur.

lol i havent seen fedora's made of rabbit or nutria fur felt
i just remember reading in an indy book that the hat was made of beaver fur thats all i was saying. but it's cool their now making it of other fur turned into felt. personally i feel beever and wool make the best felt

Im making a flopy hat for me and my dolls out of dk brown wool felt cost me a fortune but with a coupon i managed to shave $20 off. so i only payed $12 for the hat fabric

I have a crappy doll head i use for hat making she is useless for anyother perpose lol
