Possible commission thread for Star Trek (2009) headsculpts by Chris Howes

Talked to Chris in the other Star Trek thread about opening one up exclusively for head sculpts from the Star Trek (2009) film.

I was thinking we could start sign ups for Captain Kirk, Spock and Bones McCoy. After those we could move on to Nero, Uhura and Sulu... and so on.

For Costumes I was going to use the ones from the Playmates 12" figures. Not sure if any talented board member here can help us out.

Please note it will be a while until Chris can get to these... he's a busy man.

Hopefully something by the end of summer, Chris?

What I'll do is set up a purchase page in the next day or so. That way the open period where I charge the discounted precast price will be long enough so folks can save up their pennies if need be. Anyone who wants to assure their place in line now can pay now, but if you need time you'll have it! I figure that's the most flexible way to set it up.

It will be some time until I can get started on these. I have my other customs, of course, and the ever present commercial work, which has been pretty much non stop this year. I might even be designing and sculpting a Beatles toy which is very exciting to me! It'll come down to how much money they want for the license, no doubt, as it so often does. You wouldn't believe what some of these license holders want upfront, it's practically criminal! But I digress.....

Now I have to go see the movie! If anyone runs across really good high res reference material, please post it here for me. I would appreciate it!

Then choose "Star Trek 2009". It will be up with the precast discount until I can get on them.

The only problem with this is the Top. The pattern needs to be manufactured. Manufacturing fabric can get Extremely expensive. Everything else is easy. I wonder will this series generate enough interest. BTW, I am interested in doing ALL Star Trek. I will be going to HK again in June. I will look into the fabric again.

A group of Battlestar (the new series) fans want to do some 12". I already got the helmet and other outfits worked out. But the flight suit is where I run into problems. Nevertheless, BS can be fun to do.
