"how is a small native American woman going to fight a predator?!"
Dutch didn't win because he was a brick *********, if you paid attention to what you were watching you wouldn't look like such an *****.

A post I just saw on twitter.

Now look, I'm open to this film after what was a pretty good trailer but if I may respond to the point above -

Dutch's brawn did help in a number of ways - it helped him build his weapons and set his traps - the one that ultimately defeated the Predator required him to haul a large tree trunk into the air. It sure looked like his physical strength came in handy there. Secondly it probably helped him survive the beating he took from the Predator.

Something tells me we aren't going to be seeing the Predator walloping the ever-living crap out of this girl as she pitifully screams in pain and fear while she attempts to flee for her life on her hands and knees.

Maybe they'll still pull off a compelling showdown however, we'll see.

I completely agree with your comment about Dutch in Predator.

However, in my experience you never underestimate anyone. I once saw a 5' nothing Woman Marine easily take down a 6'+ muscular male Marine very quickly in hand-to-hand combat training.

Who knows what this movie will bring; it may suck or it might not but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Not if Deborah Chow directed this movie she would torture and even kill the young comanche kids lol

Fair points however ultimately the Predator only died because he decided blow himself up. :lol

To piggy back on that, there's more than one way to raise a log, and if you're small, agile, and intimately familiar with the land, you may be more capable at evading or creating any variety of obstacles and traps hunting for a living.
Some of the "woke", pocahontas reactions are surprising to me. I can't imagine writing off the x-men from 1975-1991 because a claremont hallmark is "strong female characters" - throwing the baby out with the bath water i'd say.
I'm 75% resigned to this being a regretful waste of time, but I think the concept is genius and long overdue. Billy was the first to realize what was happening, albeit his solution would make for a short film.
Also, seeing as the themes of "using/returning to the land", the psychology of the hunt, and strong self reliance in survival skills, are all (stereotypically or not) hallmarks of the indigenous peoples.
Despite a good trailer, i believe it will be yet another (shane) black eye on the franchise.
Also disappointed in this feral predator thing. Some blokes at the avpgalaxy boards turned the brightness way up on a trailer close up of the unmasked head and its a fairly big departure. While avp:r was a giant butt farting in everyone's face, wolf is a great design, the renegade predator was very good, super predators were also generally well received, scar/celtic/chopper have their fans... I thought at the very least i could expect a new neca of ht figure worthy of some elbow room on a crowded shelf.
This property died with kph and stan i think. Forget films and leave it to the comics, they've handled it much better.

Huh... You guys are really excited for this?? :dunno

Are your expectations so low because of the last Predator movie(s)?? :rotfl

A little girl running around the jungle with sticks chasing a monster with her faithful pitbull?

It looks like a Fan Film, made for TV movie or direct to home video movie at best to me. Doesn't feel cinematic at all. I'm sure the production value was very low due it most likely having a tiny budget for this type of movie. It is a direct to streaming movie, and on HULU at that. Which is owned by Disney.

Can't wait to read the reviews/disappointments... :lol
It helps that I don’t have to pay money in the theater in case this is a bust ..it’s included with my Hulu sub
