Hello people,
A few weeks ago I asked what would be a good way to get into Aliens/Predator.
You people were great with answers and ideas. I got on a wait list for The Ex Cleaner and ordered the Predator 2 Diorama. Just got notice that my waitlist is being converted to an order.
Question is ---If I needed to pick just one , what do you think would be better?
I have several items(no Aliens/Predator yet) and I just display them---I don't move them around much.
Thanks for any help:emperor

Wow. If you are not in to changing the poses. I guess the diorama is cool (shudder). I gots ta have my articulation. MY own preference would be the figure.

I agree, figures are more worthwhile. What do you do with a statue once you open it up? Put it on a shelf, rotate it now and then...dust it. Figures provide much more to enjoy, yet also more to worry about in terms of deterioration and breakage. I'd still go with figures though.

Id go the Dioramas, for the exact opposites of their reasoning.

No articulation = no loose joints or shelve dives

What do you mean, you people?

I would pick the diorama since I'm a statue dude

Ive been collecting both and I can honestly say I get more enjoyment out of STATUES than figures. Thats just me. I think Ill slowly sell my figs and have nothing but Statues eventually.

I enjoy both. To me, it comes down to how much extra cash I have. I would try to get both, but that's just me. If I absolutely could only get one, I'd go for Cleaner Kit Wolf.

I like both statues and figures, so which ever one you think is the best looking is the one you should get.

Personally I think Hot Toys predators look better than the Sideshow Dios, the P2 dio doesn't blow me away or anything. Though when you start talking about the more expensive Sideshow predator pieces its a tougher call. Though I don't plan on buying anything that expensive

Well, as a democratic response, I'm a convert to the HT figures. I hate the fact that most dioramas have 1/2 to 2/3 of their size as a fairly generic base... who wants to buy a polystone tree? Plus, the fact that the armour, mesh, weapons etc on the figures are actually separate components means you get a much more '3-D' effect than prepainted dioramas. Instability is only a problem if you don't use the display base (it's there for a reason... :) ) and the deterioration issue seems to be an urban myth as far as Predators are concerned.

But ultimately, it's personal preference. My advice is ignore all of us and buy what YOU like the look of.

I like both, just as long as the likeness is spot on. Although, I do prefer figures over statues just for the fact that you can actually play with it (I'm a kid at heart)

The predator Diorama looks way better and is my new favorite item.

best way to go is to get one of each and see what grabs you attention and eyes the most.

i've become a statue collector myself, so i say diorama's.unless your wanting to play with them, if that's the case, go with figures.

The HT figs have a better paintjob and more detail than the diorama's do. Real netting etc just makes the figure seem more alive than the diorama does.

Thanks Freaks,
It is good to get a few opinions---I like the HT cleaner better--but the low edition number of the Dio would make it cool to own also.
I meant nothing by "you people"--sorry if any offense was taken.
