I completely understand the reasoning behind it as it's pretty well laid out in the item description/photos as the reason for the cost. Doesn't change the fact that I think it's overpriced for the scale that is it. If it was 1/3, I'd have no problem dropping the cash for one.Every piece is painted by the artists of Shumi-arts themselves, which explains the higher price. It's comparable to having Viper hand-paint every single InArt figure, which would also result in a significant increase in the cost of the 1/6 InArt figure per unit.
That's what I have in mind as well. If they do, maybe the ex-shumi artists prefer to be anonymous/unknown, for some legal reasons, or maybe there are some negotiations with Shumi happening under the table, who knows? Is it possible that Prime 1 hired those artists if they were also left out high and dry? If the proto images haven't changed, you would think those artists would still have to be involved to show their work.
For their 1/6 lines (Paripi Yui n the other cyberpunk girl) yes, but for this one, I have no idea.Wasn't Shumi taken over by JND?......
It was my understanding that JND just took over Shumi’s 1/6 project(s) and not the company as a whole.Wasn't Shumi taken over by JND?......
Shumi Arts was pretty big in the custom game as far as I'm aware making high quality custom figures with an accompanying high price tag. I think they've had some (or at least one from what I remember) 1/6 figures available at retailers like OSK previously, but don't exactly know for sure. So, them collaborating with P1 for some statues was pretty exciting for some ppl b/c it meant the quality would be there through production vs the normal drop in quality we see from Prime1 once an item is released.Forgive my ignorance, but what has Shumi Arts done in the past that makes them so highly touted? I've honestly never heard of them or seen their work. I think this prototype is very well done, albeit expensive for a 1/4 scale piece. I don't think I would pay that price for anything less than 1/3, however I've also spent $1,000 on 1/6 custom figures back in the day, so who am I to talk...
